Axel Disasi was excellent at West Ham last season on loan from Chelsea,
They looked a far better side when he arrived in January,
If we want to save money for other positions couldn't we sign up on a season long loan,
Downside being Chelsea would never loan him to us before we play them.
And I think we should seriously look at bringing Joao Palhinha back, he would galvanise this squad and provide instant protection to our fragile back four.
Disasi and Palhinha would strengthen us and at minimal outlay, and both are currently available.

Joao would not be available for a "minimal outlay". He's got a couple years left on a contract paying him ~£150K a week.

Disasi is a good shout would be a good signing.
With Berge and Charles coming in we don't need Palhinha (I'm a big fan though)

Why Disasi Fails to Fit the System

High Line Vulnerability: Arbeloa instructs his teams to push deep into the opponent's half, leaving massive spaces behind the back four. Disasi's lack of recovery pace and poor lateral agility mean he would be repeatedly exposed on the counter-attack by quick forwards.

Impulsive vs. Patient Defending: In a masterclass with The Coaches' Voice, Arbeloa famously emphasized that "defending is not always about going for the tackle" and requires elite space control and patience. Disasi is a highly aggressive, front-foot defender who frequently overcommits to physical duels, which breaks defensive structure—a major red flag for Arbeloa.

High-Pressing Exhaustion: Arbeloa's tactical setups demand rapid, high-energy direction changes to compress the pitch and cut passing lanes. Disasi's heavier, 190 cm frame is built for box protection rather than the relentless mobility required in a grueling gegenpress.

Rigid Passing Profile: While Disasi is quite competent at carrying the ball forward into open spaces, Arbeloa's buildup demands crisp, precise, and rapid short-passing circulation to bypass pressing lines. Disasi can become erratic and error-prone when forced to move the ball quickly under intense pressure.

It's a no from me, AI and Arbeloa  ::wink::

The 3 centre backs we've been linked to recently Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Josip Sutalo and Moustapha Mbow would all fit the bill.

Buy cheap buy twice.

The biggest problem bringing players in who don't come from madrids reserves is the fact we are struggling to build a team to compete you wonder the player from Southampton might have second thoughts that also wouldn't have helped bringing in centre halves in and it don't seem our own youth are no near ready for grown up football

Yeah, I'd imagine the saints players reads a huge amount into the result of a friendly rather than the chance to join an established Premier club and double his wages!

Is it correct that Ali Wahid has been loaned to Boreham Wood?

yep it's on the FFC website.
when I have seen him he always looked really direct and seemed to me a better prospect than Zepa who got a few minutes in yesterday's friendly, but at least being on loan he should get some meaningful game time as opposed to being an unused sub for our first team which would have been the case.

Boreham Woods social media followers are about to go through the roof!
Good loan for him.

It appears that Southampton have turned down Fulham's £30 million pound bid for Charles which is disappointing as he is a beast and exactly what we need in our midfield along with Berge who is a must starter.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

@jolslover

From FFN - would be a top signing. We still need a RW.

🚨 Understand #FFC are one of the clubs that have made enquiries into taking #FCB winger Roony Bardghji on loan.
The winger was left out of Barca's squad traveling for pre-season.
The Spanish champions want to sell with a buy back clause or loan the winger out.
There is a host of clubs chasing the winger and his future will become clearer in the coming days.

Hovewhite just said £22m had been agreed?

Footballs not won based off how tall/physical the players are - Couldn't find stats for last year but Man City had the lowest average height in the Prem 24/25 and won the league comfortably.

Fairly sure a tiny team just won the world cup?

Not too sure about Rooney tbh. Im Swedish myself, and although he is quite a livewire on the ball, im not so sure he is ready to start games for us. Decent options of the bench at best.

Im just worried that he is overhyped and that will reflect on his price tag/loan fee/wage

I'm no football scout but FM has Roony as one of the most talented RW in the world

I think that's the idea.
We have Oscar Bobb (and Iwobi or Sess) I gather the RW spot is gonna be a loan with an option or cheaper deal as back up to bobb who we already spent big on
