I don't know if it's been mentioned in here or not, but Pitarch was at MP last week apparently, which makes it appear that RM are happy to sanction a transfer. I imagine after missing out on Rodri, Mourinho will still want a CM so the Pitarch transfer could be a deadline day special

It does seem like it could bubble into something like that and a bit of a transfer saga.

Question though is will it come off or not and what contingencies do we have in the meantime? Real don't need to or necessarily want to sell, so they're under no obligation to if they don't want to..

If we put all our eggs in one basket, which weve done over the years, do we wait until Jan, or do we get in a loan player, or sign someone else?

If signing someone else what would that do to the potarch deal?

My concern is that if we don't get him this summer, then he may never come - he'll either get more game time at real and stay, or move to a bigger club? Or, we may not have a strong season and he won't want to come.. there are so many things that distract from a deal getting done once initial window passes.

On a separate note, would anyone here consider pepi as a wing option from PSV, even though he's a striker for them? Didn't have the strongest world cup we know, but also didn't play much. He's in the same category as the players we're signing, with a bit more of a track record and we need an additional winger

TheScoop

Endrick is not really unrealistic as his agent is offering him around the prem but we would never get an option so doubt it would happen.

I'm not too sure LDF is going to prosper at Fulham now, he was a picture perfect next in line CB for Silva but Arbeloa's system will require serious pace which is not his forte.

Pepi to Fulham is not happening

Firstly he's a striker and we need an actual winger rather than someone who can play there but main position is elsewhere + he's too expensive now we're spending big elsewhere - RW likely to be a loan deal with option or cheap deal.

But primarily it won't happen because Tony has explicitly said we won't be pursuing the deal in an interview directly. Clearly he failed his medical here over something serious, and whatever we found was a major concern that put us off the deal indefinitely.

For now RW seems most likely to be later deal for a loan with an option or obligation on:

Roony Bardghji
Ethan Nwaneri
A similar young talent wanting a fresh start stuck behind big talent at their parents club

FFN trying to get second verification from someone earlier

But apparently we're the team mentioned to be interested in Juma Bah - absolute unit 20yr old CB from man city on loan at nice last year. Apparently did really well at lens year before, but then a rough year last year at nice , but not played for many city yet.

Fee being proposed is 20-25m which is alot considering he went there at 18 and got loaned out for 2 years without playing for them . 6 foot 5 though.

Still interested in Ait Boudlil but seems enquiring to see what's available sounds like Rennes want more than 25 for their CB

Also nixon suggesting he thinks Jordan James to Boro looks likely...which suggests we're holding out for Pitarch or another. Sometimes ya gotta take such risks if you like the player, obviously having visited the ground, if true, the possibility is high if real bring in a midfielder , hopefully it comes off.

Guys an absolute unit for a 20yr old 🤣

Interesting how every single deal we are doing is for players 22 or younger, and all the players moved on were 29 of older.

It's a massive shift and one we all felt we needed. We still have plenty of experienced senior players except for in the front line really, depending on where Iwobi plays.

I understand why the club passed on Chukwueze, big transfer fee and salary, at an age where resale value would go down. But his profile would be great right now. He was a real spark for us and showed he's capable of scoring.

If we're struggling in a game, hopefully we have players that can stand up and be counted. Raul and Wilson really did that for us last year. Big responsibility for the young lads to get the goals given Kevin, Bobb, King, ESR, Muniz all struggled in front of goal last season. I know all of them and have the potential to, but it's whether that could actualises into will.

Would be great to have a player of that physical profile. Something we urgently need.

My immediate thought seeing him is that he could be a bit older. Obviously I might be wrong, but age fraud unfortunately is a huge issue in African football.

Think he played for Nice in Ligue 1 last season, on loan from Man City

6 feet 5 inches that's a good start.

Have been a Pepi fan for a while and his strength is finding pockets of space and getting off shots; not really running at people or crossing from the wings. The times I've seen him played on the wings it just doesn't seem to suit him.

Quote from: jayffc on August 09, 2026, 06:58:53 PM10m supposedly the fee it would take...seems a really good punt to me. Only just turned 20, was hailed a real upcoming talent a year or so ago but not in favour of current Barca manager.... High press, tracks back well but attack minded, skillfull.

Great feedback from Barca fans, if we could get him in and offload Castagne for slightly more I would be all for it.

It's clear Arbeloa wants his fullbacks to play very high and contribute a lot going forwards. On the left side both Robinson and Sessegnon do this well but on the right I feel Tete (solid as he is) and Castagne are lacking in attacking contribution.

Fort and Tete as RB options would be great.

I would be wary of chucking all of our experience out the window in just one summer.

Fort, yes please. As a direct replacement for Tete or Castagne? No please
Hardly? We have two experienced and competent but also aging and depreciating assets at RB. I don't see how selling one of those for money rather than letting them leave for a free transfer, whilst also replacing them with a promising new talent is "chucking" all our experience away?

Think we missed Tosin's aerial presence a bit since he's been gone.

Also came from City. On paper I like the sound of this. Wonder what he's like on the ball. The lad at Rennes looked a great dribbler.

Look's Surplus to Requirements at Newcastle. Nick Pope I think he needs a Needs a challenge.

He's been absolutely appalling at Newcastle by all accounts, hard pass from me

Would be happy with either of them to be honest, Ait Boudlal looks like the more technical defender but Juma Bah looks an absolute unit and quick too
