Or maybe we're showing interest in Wan Bissaka to drive down the Hector Fort price...

Quote from: WindyCity on August 12, 2026, 04:23:53 PMJust putting it out there, but Mudryk to go out on loan this season, and he wants to stay in the Premier League.  There are supposedly a handful of Prem clubs interested, including Coventry.  I know this player comes with baggage, but I still think a huge talent is there.  Not sure what FFC fans think about him.  Sometimes a team needs to take a chance on a firebrand and player that has 'issues'.  Not really keen on loans, but if attached with possible purchase, I wonder if some here might consider?

Not even worth discussing. Mudryk is a left winger and we already have Kevin & Iwobi with Palacios, Sess & Smith-Rowe all capable of filling in.

This was my thought - smells a little bit of an easy rumour monger, someone at the club sending Sky a quick Whatsapp to tack our name on the end of some Villa news.

Fort sounds unlikely if he'll be 20m with a load of other clubs in for him.

Think it's great we're in the market for defenders, but Castagne/Tete at RB is solid enough for now. A CB is a must though.

Lupalo Bi off to Fleetwood...

Good move for him - didn't pull up trees at Dagenham/Walsall previously, he really needs to make the most of this one. Talented player in the Youth Leagues.

Right Wing-Back from the Bundesliga - who would he be replacing ? Kenny because of his recent injury record ? Joe Scally is only 23 but has racked up 153 Bundesliga games ( and full USMT ). Would be harsh on Kenny but Scally has been injury free and is 7 years younger and about Euro 7 Million. We have wiggle room with squad size to have Tete, Castagne ( cover both RB and LB ) and Scally. He can cover Right Wing if needed as well as he has been mostly playing Wing-Back for two seasons
If it wasn't for the medication I,d be chewing on your skin

I think Hector seems to be quite sought after. Not sure you can bring down price by talking to other players, when other clubs are also interested in the same player

This is an interesting one, and a good example of being 23 but with 5 years of senior football and first team experience with a bundesliga team. Puts things into perspective. For me this is much more an example of buying youth but with experience to give some guarantees on performance... an interesting opportunity.

Seems to get a fair few yellow cards (8 last season), but the odd goal and assist.

€7m euros if true is also surprising but an interesting reflection on value for money

Does beg the question as you say of who does he replace and what? Tete is older and more injury prone and Castagne has been whipping in a lot of good balls in pre season.. perhaps Arbeloas first choice? Both have limited contracts left

The Cravenette

I am beginning to think that as we are going for a new RB it seems that Tete may be the one to leave.  Since Castagne has come back he seems to be showing more of the AA attributes.  Interesting as I was surprised a RB was on the wish list.

Still think a RCB is imperative before the season starts. RB and RW can wait til nearer the end of the window.

AGree that it's more likely Tete will go. His injuries just spoil what an asset he can be when fit. Thought Castagne had a good world cup and was probably our best player last night.

Id we're paying 20m odd for a rb, we might as well go for spence. Hg trained at club

Tete is now on big wages and a long contract, we will struggle to shift him given he's injury prone on top of that

The other point is that Scally and Robinson have been training and playing together with the USMT, so no problems with in game connection and communication
