Congrats Mick!

Speaking of needing players in...

Man utd 'collapse' against AC Milan.. and who scored one and assisted 2 of Milans 4 goals, none other than Chukwueze. Feel he was largely underutilised by Silva.

Another goal was scored by none other than RLC, though not advocating for him to be brought back

Mick makes things up about TK and then slags him off for them.
His obsession is starting to look like an illness.

Chuk's salary will be over 100k, that's the opposite of what we're going for

Maybe he is TK, in disguise 🥸
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

I wonder if we are now looking to offload Tete rather than Castagne. Seems Castagne is Arbeloas preference of the two and to be fair to him Castagne has looked good in the last two pre-season games and towards the tail end of last season.

Bellanova would be a good signing and offers a lot more in the final 3rd going forward than our two current RBs. Think this will be vital in Arbeloas system and is why we are looking for a new RB

Don't know why people even bother trying to read his wall of text rants anymore.

Is just a whinge bag through and through. We could win the league and he would mouth of at the owner.

I agree fully. I honestly want to see what castagne can do in this system with a run of games it really highlights his best abilities. I also think Tete is one of the best one on one rbs in the league and can be smart going forward, RB isnt really a concern for me. However if AAs system relies on the wing backs for penetration then makes sense to invest in exactly what he needs.

Lots of fences to sit on in Hk apparently

I think we should keep both. What worked relatively well under Marco and was an intentional squad building piece from him was to have a group of players that had different skillsets for different ways of playing the game or tactical approaches.

Tete is a brilliant 1 vs 1 defender, perhaps one of the best in the league and perhaps a better overall defender than Castagne, but more defensively minded. He's better against pace but also if we think we're going to be defending a lot more for instance against top teams.

How we plan for the future is a different conversation, Hector Fort does seem like an interesting choice, but not sure we'd be his first choice.. appreciate players are getting older and need to plan with future in mind, but it's not a priority necessarily to change. DM, Winger and RCB are our current priorities

Southampton and Fulham are both considering Hampus Skoglund - but neither club has made a formal offer.

Should one of them move quickly before more suitors enter the race? 👀

Adarybioyo to Benfica?

I thought him and Silva didn't get on after the contract debacle.

Yeh I think Fort would be my ideal choice here given we have 2 veteran fullbacks already of which we could sell on one. Full of flair and pretty good pace and suited to the wingback role....But he does seem like he'll have options that offer european footy. Bellanova is a bit more of a known entity at 26, but his acceleration is awesome and he does have power and height (6ft 2) which are an added bonus. Been a little under previous levels at Atlanta - who have underperformed last season on recent history as a whole.

Either look like they'd be good fits for our system but I just don't see Tete bombing forward, and/or his hamstrings managing to stick it that type of intensity out. A shame becuase I love Tete, one of the best RBs in Fulham history along with Finnan for me... aside from the injuries ...and certainly the best defensive RB I think we've had. Castagne has been consistently good for Belgium and even captained them before for good reason, as well as being wanted by Juventus...he's not remotely sh*** imo just not been in a team of late that plays to his strengths. He's openly expressed that Silva system wasn't suited to him and I think that's pretty obvious personally...it was built around supporting and favouring Robinson on the left, leaving Tete to stay mostly defensive on the right. Now all shackles are off and he has license to get forward I think we'll see how well he can cross and crash the byline/box and people will realise how he's best utilised

I looked into Bellanova, he's predominantly a RM not RB. Perhaps he straddles as a RWB, but most games are as RM. So he's not an out and out RB replacement or specialist

FFN suggesting theyve been told that Rennes are reportedly on prices of formalising their acceptance of a bid on Ait Boudlil, imminently. He doesn't know for sure yet if it's our bid but seems likely.

He's played further forward but has almost always just been an attack minded RB... Suggestion is that Atlanta play at back 5 with him very advanced RWB which is warping the numbers on transfermakt claiming hs been playing outright RM , apparently that's not the case, he operates as an advanced wing back. Same was true at Torino

Regarding posters opinions, if you don't like them then ignore them, if you don't agree with them then feel free to respond giving your point of view. Remember most of us don't know a posters situation or what they maybe going through and them expressing their feelings on this forum maybe be a help to them. Everybody is different, now where's that new RCB we're looking for?

hopper

Really curious who will be sold if we sign another RB.

Like others I love Tete, but his injury track record really counts against him. If you look at his career stats, he's typically available for 22 games or less per season. Only time in his career he's played more was in 22/23 when he played 31, the season after promotion.
