I think Fleming would be a really shrewd piece of business but not sure he or Munoz would be prepared to be 3rd choice ...

hongkongfulham

at this the stage only real necessity is another CB to compete with Joa/Bassey/Cuenca.

Another body in midfield would be great but id rather blow our budget on a top CB and get a loan in. I think Reed will be useful in this system and can play a larger role.

I think we have good options in the front 3 already and would prefer someone like zepa get minutes than bringing in an expensive fringe player Ala chuk even if we was a bright spark initially. Think Godo has shown he should have maybe got more of a chance

Agreed. Order of priority right now is CB, CDM/CM, RW, GK.

It would only make sense if a) we sold Muniz and b) we somehow sold him for a decent fee which would at least partially offset the £25m+ Burnley would want for Flemming.

Quote from: C Block on August 16, 2026, 11:56:37 PMCan I just say (and not for the first time) that Zian Flemming is a wonderful player, and exactly the type of player that we should be looking to compliment our striker pool even if it means JKA going out to gain experience until he is ready
Zian could hit the ground running immediately whilst our others still need time, unfortunately in the Premier League you don't tend to get much time.
Fully agreed I think Flemming is a good striker, but as mentioned before we have three strikers now so we can't afford to be dropping £20m+ on another one. From the player's perspective I can't see why he'd choose to come when there's so much competition for that place now (and he'll know that he'll be at least second choice after Garcia).
I respectfully disagree, as I said we need a striker that can hit the ground running right now whilst Garcia finds his feet, Flemming wouldn't be coming in as third choice striker he would be coming in as joint first with Garcia,as I said before JKA needs to go out on a season long loan to gain some valuable experience,
If we go into the season with Garcia, Muniz and JKA as our options then we are going to be in real trouble,
Some of you would have had a meltdown but Danny Welbeck would have been an excellent signing for us, giving us that vital experience in a transition season, someone for Garcia to learn from.
I'll say it again, we must sign another striker

Sorry but we didn't spend £40m+ on a first team Real Madrid player, Spanish international and Club World Cup top scorer to then restrict his game time by rotating him with a player who just got relegated with Burnley. I get that he will need time to acclimatise but I don't think the way to do that is spend a significant portion of our remaining transfer budget on the area of the pitch where we are arguably best covered at the moment.

I like Flemming, but he is not what we need right now.
"Just got relegated with Burnley " what a strange comment, where do you think Fulham signed Charles from ?
So working on your philosophy then you would have been upset if we had signed Summerville, Fernandes or Bowen from "just got relegated West Ham " ,
If you think Garcia, Muniz or JKA have enough goals between them from Day 1 then I think you are in for disappointment,
Garcia will be an outstanding addition to our squad but it will take time for him to find his feet to adapt, whilst Flemming (or the like) can help us in the meantime, that's all I'm suggesting.

Burnley and Real Madrid are not on the same level, that is a fact. I'm not talking about West Ham.

I just don't see how you can look at our squad right now and think that the forward area is where we need to spend another £25-£30m. I also don't see why you think Garcia can't hit the ground running? There have been so many foreign players who have never played in the Premier League before and have started strongly, and they have had lesser pedigree than Garcia (who, in addition, speaks very good English). The risk is that we blow £30m on Flemming, Garcia turns out to be a hit, then we have a big expensive asset sat on the bench when we could have invested that money in our defence or midfield (which is in much greater need of that investment).

Bronaldinho

My only fear for the remaining window is that we bought Charles, and I hope that isn't the Berge replacement and our spending is due to the potential massive fee we'd get for him. IMHO irreplaceable now at this point in the window.

Plus, I think we're gonna see a Berge with the shackles off this season too under AA
Matchday Programme Columnist during 15/16 season.

Don't think a new GK is a necessity by any means.

I put transfers into two brackets - I would say we need an RCB, RW and CM.

I don't think we need a GK or RB.. but if we want to upgrade these areas then that's a good sign. If anything I would put RB above GK given how key it is to our system.

Yes hence why I put it at the end of the list. But Leno needs replacing within the next year.

Seems a strange one this re Ait Boudlal- we get rid of the player (Diop) that is picked ahead of him for Morrocco.
He's only played 20 odd first team games and they want £30m+ for him.

If we get Ait...and we rate him...he'll be here for 5 seasons.   I liked Diop...be he wasn't going to be our future.

What other quality CB are we getting for under 35 million that will be better than the ones we have?

Going to trust scouting if this gets over the line.

Fleming is 28 and has spent most of his career being alright but not spectacular in lesser leagues.

No way I would throw away a considerable chunk of our budget (20m?)on a player that had a good stretch last year but otherwise has never really set things alight. We need players who have the potential to propel us to Europe in the coming years and for me he's not that guy.

onecupsoon

I'm probably the odd one out but I think we could easily live with what we have unless someone jumps ship.

No you didn't mention West Ham but you did mention relegated clubs which is the same thing, as you well know.

Still believe we need a RW to compliment our attack & give the strikers better service. LHS of attack as is, gives more problems.

Nwaneri on loan, Ait at centre back and Pitarch if Madrid get Zubimendi..

That'll be lovely stuff.

Absolutely. Although I still think we're going to have a RB out and a RB in by the end of the window. Seems more likely than everything other than RCB imo.

If we got those three in, and kept who we have at the club, then it would be a great summer. As long as we find our goalscoring knack soon, and defence.  Lol
