Can the Premiership require a change of Board as well?

I wouldn't mind betting that the Premier League Board are secretly hoping the Man City case will be thrown out by the High Court to protect their cash cow.

Have you read just how narrow the grounds are for a high court appeal? City might try (after exhausting the earlier steps) but a successful high court appeal seems incredibly unlikely.

And the Premier League have doggedly pursued this for something like eight years. If they didn't want to punish City they could have let it go a long time ago

Some of the Man City fans on
Radio phone in shows and tv broadcasts are so blasé and matter of fact on this issue. Are teams like us just making the numbers up do we need to get the F*ck out of the premier league?

I've said many times the European super league should be created for the "big" clubs, we can then crack on with a league in the style of the Championship.

"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

Which is why government-related persons should never be approved for football club takeovers

Could you be in his position & not know what was going on?
Rat, sinking ship come to mind

Piece in the Times from Matthew Syed the other day absolutely ripping him to shreds. Saying he just had to have a good idea of what was going on.

Call their bluff!

I think if you look on bluemoon forum it will tell you a different story about how the real supporters feel, they admit they should be dealt full force of the punishment handed out if appeal fails. Again it's what you can prove not what you know that wins cases.

Through the City Football Group, Sheikh Mansour holds varying ownership stakes in numerous international clubs, including Manchester City F.C. (England), New York City FC (USA), Melbourne City FC (Australia), Yokohama F. Marinos (Japan), Montevideo City Torque (Uruguay), Girona FC (Spain), Shenzhen Peng City (China), Mumbai City FC (India), Lommel SK (Belgium), ESTAC Troyes (France), Palermo FC (Italy), Esporte Clube Bahia (Brazil), and partner club Club Bolívar (Bolivia). Outside of CFG, he directly owns Al Jazira Club in the UAE

Are all of these clean?

Absolutely - it also highlights the issues of state sponsored club ownership if they're going to attempt to blackmail the UK, and also says a lot about them realising their level of guilt if that's what they're stooping to in an attempt to avoid major punishment

I see some promoting idea of these 'big' clubs go into their own 'super league'.  I don't like that idea and would be against it.  I know these big clubs enjoy advantage over most of the PL, but I still enjoy being on the same ground as these teams and chance to get something from those games.  I know we're just little ol' FFC, but I still look forward to these games v big clubs and the famous players they have in their teams.  As far as Citeh is concerned, they should be punished harshly, but likely won't see anything happen for several more years, appeals appeals appeals on top of appeals.  But just because one club is punished does not mean we have to abandon the whole idea of the PL and create a special league for these chumps/cheaters/money grubbers.........

Just proves how corrupt the premier league actually is. No state owned teams should ever be allowed in the game.

Exactly!
It's the pathetic bully boy tactic, if I shout loud enough and make threats, people will back down and I'll get my own way.

I tend to agree but in some of those cases there is probably less incentive to massively cheat the rules.
