Gouffran is nothing to write home about but he'll do the job when called upon.

Mitroglou might be worth having a look at. Strong player, not the quickest but knows where the goal is.

Hoeness from Bayern Munich just told that the club will have up to EUR 278m for recruiting so Guardiola can build the team he wants..... Mind boggling.

The club has a long history of writing their accounts in black ink rather than the red favoured in the Prem. Hoeness, a former footballer with a business degree, has been instrumental in this for many years.

I'm guessing that Byern really could bankroll a very large sum indeed - Guardiola surely would not have got on board, if he wasn't able to acquire top class players.

The reducer: Birmingham set to cut Jack Butland valuation to try to encourage offers

Birmingham are ready to drop their asking price for Jack Butland to £3.5million as the pressure mounts on the cash-strapped club to sell.

With just a week of the transfer window to go, Blues are still to receive any bids for the 19-year-old goalkeeper.

Fulham, Liverpool, Everton, Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle are all keeping close tabs on events but are well aware Blues' financial crisis could play into their hands.

Blues boss Lee Clark said: "The only official bid the club have had is the one that was turned down in the summer from Southampton (for £6m), just as I was taking the job.

"That's not to say we haven't had lots of interest in Jack and people asking the question.

"But, in terms of somebody actually putting down that they want to take him and what they're willing to pay, that hasn't materialised.

"With my football manager's head on, I don't want that to happen. But, in terms of the future of the club, it's been talked about already by the chairman that it probably needs to happen."

If that price is remotely true then that is an absolute steal. I would love this deal to happen.

According to Sky sports Fulham And QPR have been linked to a Loan move for Marko Marin from Chelsea and looks like he's keen for a loan to get his German starting sport back. This would be a great loan signing can play wide and in the middle.

I read someone saying Reither isn't a free agent in Summer. I've read reports saying we will get him on a free during summer 2013. Can anyone confirm the length of his current contract?

I don't understand it either.

Occording to Fulham: "Fulham signed Sascha Riether on a season-long loan from FC Cologne in early July in a deal that gives the Whites an option to acquire the player on a permanent basis next summer."

Tranfermarkt (don't know how reliable that is) show him as contracted to FC Koln to summer 2014

Transfermarkt are very reliable.

Riether has a contract with Koln till 2014 but we still have an option to buy at the end of this season if we want to, which we'd be mad not to take advantage of.

Thanks for the clarification.

Presumably the 'option to buy' means that a price has already been agreed (otherwise it's meaningless). As you say we'd be mad not to, the bloke has been consistently impressive from the start.

ärry the bung has flown out to Portugal to tie up his 32nd signing. He says he will play them all in the next match if Fernandez can buy off the match officials. There has not been a problem before says árry.

Reading deny Jimmy Kebe is on his way to Newcastle and say the message on his Twitter account (along the "I am having a medical and will be signing a 4 year contract with Newcastle" kind of lines) was intended as a joke.

Funny boy!

#NUFC have signed left-back Massadio Haïdara from Nancy on a five-and-a-half year deal.

To offer 5-and-a-half for someone nobody has heard of seems a gamble. If he´s kack & can´t sell him they will have to pay him for a hell of a long time.

3 years plus options seems more sensible.

Allez le bleu (noir et blanc)!!!

But seriously - Newcastle are signing a stupid amount of French players. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

Supporters in England haven't heard of him != nobody has heard of him.
