Fulham hope to complete a move for Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone before the transfer window closes.

The Cottagers have made a £5million bid for the midfielder and are confident that they will get their man.

£5 million seems steep unless Jol knows something we don't.

I would be absolutely certain that he does.

I'd be very happy if we could get Huddlestone. Potentially he could be our playmaker for the next 10 years. He's one player I think would justify us paying over the top.

A decent midfield player in his prime with over 100 PL games under his belt and still under contract. 5M seems a fair price to me.

fulham traveller

Yes. I'm not a great Huddlestone fan, but he is the TYPE of player we need and £5m seems reasonable for a 26 year old England international - unless he's just taken up chainsaw juggling as a hobby or takes his holidays in Syria.

I think he knows exactly what we know. Our team is in trouble, THIS season, without a midfielder with PL experience who can play deep, move the ball forward, and distribute - someone who can afford us the opportunity to move Ruiz and Berba further upfield.

Exactly - a surprise for you?
I tend to the view that the management of our club are in possession of all the information and facts about what is going on.
I also believe that they do not going round telling everyone.
If I am right it follows that most of the comments posted as facts on here are . . . well what are they?
1. Vital information that I know for a fact
2. Something someone told me
3. Something I made up

You choose - I would go for 3. Something I made up.

QPR have met Anzhi Makhachkala's release clause for defender Christopher Samba, the Press Association understands.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp said yesterday that he did not think that the move was "a goer" as he did not see the 28-year-old leaving Russia.

Best shut down the Board.

Nothing really for us to talk about. The club knows best - we should be grateful.

You're taking this transfer thread by the scruff of the neck, Burt. Deadline day is going to be hectic...

The prospect of a M'Bia and Samba centre back partnership is frightening. So much muscle - no nonsense.

He actually makes a valid point. I know there are a lot of people on here who think they can do better and predict an impending doom but I'm glad if this happens. Means these know it alls can apply for the job vacancy opening up and push the club forward.

It may well be that the club knows best - I hope so.

Doesn't leave us much to talk about though if we can't speculate, moan, criticise etc on here.

Does it really need saying that we're all know nothing amateurs. We know that surely.

We have though got a massive amount of emotion invested in this club. More than is healthy probably.

Coincides with a spot of time off work Mr EJL. Just as well the deadline is up soon, as next week I will be back at work, with not a lot of time for FOFing around!

I have to agree, seems they are actually buying grafters who know how to knuckle down and grind a result... Samba is a rock

I think you understand it was tongue in cheek really :) And No we aren't all amatuers, I think I was clear that we are more qualified then we let on!!!

But my view on this is similar where I think the club obviously do things for the benefit of the club and I try not to be too pessimistic about it. However mistakes will inevitably be made and those mistakes will be held accountable to the individuals. No harm in a moan etc and its always valid because its an opinion, I just tend to gripe with it when its just moaning for the sake of moaning. And predicting impending doom and Booing (not all but some) when I think support and encouragement would best serve the team. (understand this isn't applicable on the message board however but I think you get my general point)

Samba would be a quality signing but didnt he leave Blackburn when they were a sinking ship? Why would he want to come back and do it all over again?
