I don't believe that at all. He has fulfilled his contract, actually on June 1st, and not unlike any other ambitious person in any field, is weighing up his options. One option apppears to be Benfica in his home country and home town I believe. A team that plays European football every year. To my knowledge he has not mentioned any verbal agreement and I'm not even sure he has met them, but I could be wrong. Being an optimist I think he will stay and hope he stays. Rodgers, Southgate, Potter, Poch, Lampard, Ange, Rosenior, Dead snake, O'Neil do not thrill me at all. By the way the bookies favourites are Rodgers, Southgate and Rosenoir. Imagine that!

Nitpicking but the sherry is next door in Spain (Jerez), but we do have port (Porto). Lisbon winters can be pretty cold, thankfully they are not too long.  Lovely city though especially when you can smell the sardines on the grill.

Lisbon has access to a beautiful coastline, wonderful architecture, some of the best cafe culture in the world, Fado, beautiful public gardens, great gastronomy and wine.  Whilst London has many assets it would be daft to write off Lisbon as somehow limited in its attractions.

I think you'd be surprised, there's always an upwards comparison for most people of wealth, either financially, materially, or ethically.. its never that straightforward.

Fundamentally in this case, for the chance for the clubs value to appreciate, it needs a good manager first of all, then players (second because they depend on the manager), and then good results and at best silverware.

This is a people industry, moreso than most, and requires strong tactical expertise, people skills, reputation and all else to succeed

Not so sure about that, clearly our transfer work has not been up to scratch and if that has been down to Marco not having enough influence, it would be entirely approriate to negotiate for as long as needed to get the budget and infleunce needed.

He's kept us waiting for an answer for months without committing. The club have put a generous contract on the table. These are facts. He is so clearly waiting for another option to come open for him. This is all fine. He is out of contract literally from now. So,what i am saying is I want him to move on. We can thank him (would have been better to do this at the last game) and the club can appoint a successor.
