Beautiful big villa, swimming pool, guaranteed sunshine throughout the year, great golf clubs, restaurants, food, wine, sherry, friendly people and climate..... not to mention Benfica being a big club with a great stadium....

Yeah, must be a wrench leaving London. But you've earned it. I don't regard you as a 'snake' at all. It's what most would have done in your position. You are Portugese for starters.

So, good luck and thank you Marco, for the stability and continuation in the Premier League you have bought to Fulham. Some of the football wasn't exactly spine-tingling. But hey, at least we are not contemplating championship football and trips to places like Lincoln and other crap holes like that next season.

Since when has Lincoln  been a crap hole as you say.
It's a beautiful City, have you ever been there?

Nitpicking but the sherry is next door in Spain (Jerez), but we do have port (Porto). Lisbon winters can be pretty cold, thankfully they are not too long.  Lovely city though especially when you can smell the sardines on the grill.

I'd be amazed if Benfica would pay Marcus £4m a year .... so he's not going for the money...

Nice to go back home though...

Lincoln is lovely by the way ... just wouldn't want to play our football there..

So does this mean we just sit in limbo waiting for Mourinho to sort out his deal with Madrid. I hope we now ask MS if it's true and immediately say we are not prepared to wait around, we still want you but you either sign our new contract now or you go elsewhere so that we can get a new manager in place.
Why should we be mucked about by what Mourinho might decide and when.
I don't blame MS for trying to keep his options open but that option needs closing asap.

Probably not but we like a challenge on here. Think of it as a warm up to the likely managerial candidates threads coming this way!  ::scarf::

Andrew

If true, and I hope it isn't, but if true, he should be removed immediately and anew manager appointed. We need that stability or else pre season will be shambolic.

However, how do talkspoort know, did Marco tell them?

Lincoln has a beautiful cathedral and is a lovely small city. Are you actually as ignorant as you make out?

To be fair, we might be going there the season after next, unless recruitment buck their ideas up!

I keep reading that Lisbon has been destroyed by tourism and that the local culture which made in special in the first place are being priced out

Lisbon is well down on my list of 'destroyed by tourists' destinations but tourism certainly exists;  the city and surrounds have a lot to offer. In peak times the amount of tourism can be bothersome, so try March or October/November if you have concerns.  There are plenty of easy to reach (from Lisbon) historic towns also well worth a visit, where you shouldn't have much trouble finding local culture and just one or two locals that don't speak English.

Lots of tourists like any major capital Piri. Was there again a couple of weeks back and if you like walking up and down hills, it really is a beautiful place to be.

I was there end of Jan and it's a wonderful place to visit. Might be different in the summer of course, but you could say the same about any European capital.

It was also incredible value. Food and drink was a fraction of the prices in the UK

Doubt they know more than anyone else. This bit is particularly dodgy "The west Londoners are pushing for a definite answer before the end of May."
Erm in fact Marco said he would say this week!
