I wouldn't be too disappointed, we missed the boat on a big fee for Jedi. He could be a great player if he knew how to cross, and last 12 months he has generally been poor

For the last twelve months he has been slowly pacing himself after a knee operation and getting better and better as he builds up his confidence and strength in his knee.

Did people see his goal for the USA the other night? Absolutely incredible.

Showing a bit of form at the end of the season. You forget how fantastic he was the  year before he was sometimes our most froward and dangerous player.

LittleErn

He showed all his old pace in the USA match. One run, which created space for a USA goal, was blistering. Hope we get an exciting manager soon who could persuade him to stay.

I would not be against it. I honestly don't think we have a big transfer budget this year so if we can get 20-30m for him then I'd move him

Antonee looked back to his old self against Paraguay.  Personally I think it would be crazy to sell him - or any of our best players, when we have a change of manager and the potential need to sign 6-7 players (including 2-3 starters) this window.  Whilst I love Sess, he is some way off being at Antonee's level as a full back.

v

Yes, Antonee was great last night for the USA. He played a terrific through-ball in to the wing for the cross that led to the first Balogun goal, and he was a constant thorn in the Paraguay defence second half rampaging up that left wing.

US could've scored even more than the 4 they got.

I've said before, if he could cross he never would have come to Fulham.
That being said, Mauricio Pochettino had him taking dead balls last night. Maybe he's getting some proper coaching.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

It's a difficult one. If we are to refresh the team and bring in three or four players to improve the side we will almost certainly have to sell to raise the cash and keep within the rules. Robinson is one of our best players but also one of our most saleable. Just selling back up players like Reed, Diop etc won't raise enough. We won't want to sell King.

IMO the new manager, whoever it is, will have to try to deal with the problem of regenerating the team on what may be by premier league standards limited cash.

Could it be that Silva stifled fast attacking play so much that players were forced to play sideways/backwards, I might be doing Silva's a bit of an injustice here but that's how I see it.

Sadly she wasn't

I think that's what it's always been. All the players that came to us played better attacking football and were taking more chanced before they came to us. Silva wanted them to play some sort of "carry the ball into the net" tactic

When on form and healthy, Jedi is a top 5, perhaps top 3 LB in the league.  How many other players on our squad are at that level?  Selling him would be a tragedy and an admission that we are lesser.

But we may need to.  As noted above, we need to regenerate on the squad and I don't know where else the money will come from.  It's the curse of the FFP rules- the rich stay rich and the rest of us are penalized for trying to move up in the table.

He missed the whole pre season and never caught up he will strip fitter next term.

As has been stated above by DadCreature, there's a need to refresh the team a bit this season and I feel like we're going to need to buy 3-4 players at least. Not sure we can do that without selling.

Selling a player like Robinson now after we had had so many great seasons from him at a huge profit when he is getting towards the last period of his playing career is exactely what we should be doing.  This is how you survive SCR and you invest that money into younger talent, bring them on and do the same.  It's a simple model, will obviously not always work and players will not always be good enough.  It's always a risk game but Robinson is a perfect example if ever there was one.

Saying we must keep our best players is how we lost Wilson for nothing when we should be replacing Wilson with the likes of Bobb having got some return.  Another reason for signing players earlier to integrate before the season starts.
