Was I frustrated by us having to sell Mitro and Palhinha? Yes, but we got roughly £100m for the both of them. Did it impact us? Not really, we managed to stay mid-table. And we used some of it to buy young talent that will be hopefully with us for another 2-3 seasons and then sell then for a profit and get some new young talent. That's modern football I'm afraid. We're not Chelsea who can buy whomever they want. I'd imagine for us to have any sort of decent transfer budget every season under the new SCR rules, we would need to make at least one big sale every season.

Hackney from Middlesbrough to Everton today looks to be a good signing for them, to complement Dewsbury-Hall last summer.

i'm not convinced that £100m on Tonali and £85m on Fernandez are great business at all. The £52m for Van HEcke at least is offset by them selling Brighton the croatian CB for similar amount.

Their best signing for me is Senesi on a free from Bournemouth.

Guess it shows that the £30m that we spend on our main purchases is nothing anymore.

I wouldn't mind us seeing if we could get Bergvall off them if nowadays there is a sensible price? Could be the box to box type we crave in our midfield. There are going to be surplus players especially in there midfield area.
