How much for a pint in Belgium? town center, more than likely an " Irish Bar". Just trying to rule you in or out of the tour.

Freddy, Sir, a (Belgian) pint would cost you 1,75 € (1,5 £) but you would obviously chose something stronger, ranging from 2 € to 5€ per beverage (Duvel, Vedett, Palm, Gueuze, etc.)

What would be useful is if someone with extra spare time on their hands could develop the "Fulham Beer Index" by googling the average price of a pint for each of the possible countries. Then compare against a base currency such as pounds (or whatever, easy to convert). i.e. say since Scandi is expensive maybe Norway is listed as plus 10 pounds or whatever compared to England, where as Albania is negative 2 pounds per pint compared to England etc.

That way we could figure out who to shout for in the draw (assuming we get into the pot)

Mr CorkedHat,  :clap_hands: That is outstanding!!!
I see North Korea is clocking in at a healthy 0.38 of a pound...Maybe a good place for the summer holidays? I wouldn't have to worry about a return ticket either.

Tell me when you want to go Mr Finn and I'll dust off my passport and come with you. We can get pissed every day and then enjoy Kim's hospitality for the next twenty years

Further to Sipwell's comments. I wouldn't recommend drinking Duvel or Gueuze by the pint. Its far too stong. A lot of Belgian beers are made to be savoured slowly so are served in smaller glasses.
You ought to try a Kwak, served in its own unique glass. Without spoiling the surprise,  its quite an experience the first time you drink one. The beer is pretty good too.
Finn and Corked Hat, you are forever part of the family.

A Gueuze is actually less strong than a normal beer and for me is the Belgian beer par excellence (we have to admit that a pint is actually a copy of the Czech pils, but we brew it considerably better), a Kwak on the other hand is as strong as Duvel. I made that mistake buying two 750ml bottles of Leffe Blonde in Sainsbury's. They were on special - two for £5.50, so seemed a good idea at the time. However, after drinking the first bottle, I couldn't even look at the second.
Very nice, but only to be drunk in moderation.  :wine:

I recommend drinking Amstel in Belgium. Just to stick one in the eye of the Belgian.

Look 'ere mushtie    :015: , I was thinking of a Gueuze mort subite (translation: sudden death) which is 7% alcohol.

Tsk, tsk, tsk! A good Geuze is never more than 6 %, which is the same as a regular beer. Most Geuzes (including the one from Mort Subite) is 4,5 % alcohol, below the one for pils. You have exceptions though, but those are disqualified!
