Slim Like Gentleman Jim 2010 Championship - Final Results

Admin – Finally done!! Fulham Ramadan/Lent is over. As CCD finally managed to find a pair of scales in the hotel in Florida we are good to go. But before I go into the results in detail, just wanted to give you all a big pat on the back. 8 weeks of diet is no fun, and we lost a few along the way. I have taken them off the final league tables and stats. But the fact that everyone who stayed put managed to lose weight is in my book a stellar success. Some lost more than others, but everyone is slimmer now than they were on the 1st of January, which is a very good thing. Having built the spreadsheets it is pretty simple for me now to keep track of this. In fact, I spent more time chasing people for weigh-in's than processing.

In any event, I had a lot of fun running this. If I helped motivate some of you to stay focused and drop some pounds, I am a very happy camper. In fact, I have decided to do it again next year as I now have the tools to run it without taking too much time of other things such as work. Hope to see you all back and motivated again for next year

Commentary – First lets digest the results from the final week. This week as a group we surprisingly lost another 14 pounds (a stone), giving a total of 154 pounds for the year or 11 pounds per person. There were some up and downs but that is to be expected this late in the competition. In fact, at the end 4 people broke the Stone Barrier, and AmericanJames came up only 1 pound short. The Man of The Week was again ClintClintDeuce who clocked in a high 5 pounds. He claims he has been sick, but I suspect it has more to do with running around the hotel in Florida trying to steal a pair of scales. Behind him The Rambler and MichaelRead again put in a strong week and managed to drop a strong 3 pounds.

Naughty Boy honours of the week goes to Mr Freddy. All this Fulham glory must be sabotaging him as he managed to put on a 2 pounds for the week. Ridge "FoF Lance Armstrong" Rider gets honourable mention by adding a pound as well but I suspect that may rather be muscle given his hobbies. Bigal was Bigal again and added a pound as well.

So now the final League Tables. It was very close, and it went down all the way to the wire. CCD put himself back in contention with a second strong week in a row. However, in the end The Rambler took the Championship in Total Pounds, having lost an impressive 22 pounds for the gold medal. MichaelRead ended just a pound behind him for the silver and CCD was third, a single pound behind Michael.

Pound for Pound saw Michael Read the aussie take the gold ahead of the Rambler and with CCD just pipping Blingo for the bronze at the finish

Again, Congratulations to the Champions but you can all be very proud of your achievements. I really enjoyed running this.

Rambling_Syd_Rumpo

Well then, Many Thanks to Mr Finnster for running this,it kept me going knowing a had to report in every week-cheers feller :D

Me, to tell the turth I've struggled with this to be honest-so far this year it's been no beer,no fry ups,no pies,no crisps,no chocolate,no fish & chips ,no bacon butties,no curries,no chinese takeaways.
Think I'm going to have this weekend off and go a bit mad -that first pint of Guinness won't touch the sides ;) ;D ;D

well done everybody,it's been a long couple of months ;)

FC Silver Fox

Well done, the Finnster. The campaign was wonderfully well organised and a great motivation.Thanks.  I intend to keep on going until the end of June so I look a bit less flabby on the beaches of the French Riviera.
Finn and Corked Hat, you are forever part of the family.

RidgeRider

Thanks Finn! Appreciate you doing this. Losing 11 more pounds is perfect for me and since my competition continues till I hit 190, I won't be going to any fry ups, having any beers, or pies this weekend.  :'(

chez

Well done to everyone!

Bit disappointed in Fat Fred though, could have done with loosing a bit more  :P

FatFreddysCat

Wow how good am i? A whole 4lb lost in just two months :D. Cheers for all the work you put in Finny and congratulations everyone. I'm going to continue to post my weight at the start of each month, as my gardening work gets busier i will start to very quickly lose some serious weight and yet again be a young gazelle.

Well Done Mr. F, for running this, and for all those that are more slim-like-jim is now.

But one thing ..... Why can't you run it again in May- run up to the WC - even I'll join in on that one, and if you think Fred has a bit to lose, wait till I start weighing meself (is it possible to use two scales, one for each foot?) !!

If you start it again in may i'll defo win it, i'll hopefully be out pushing a mower most days and then the gym after, the weight usually falls of me in the summer.

I was on a BA flight from Heathrow to Mexico City a few years back and believe it or not, the captain came on the intercom and introduced himself as Captain Montezuma (as in Motezuma's revenge)...To this day I don't know if he was joking or not, but I was very careful only drinking bottled water, drinks with no ice cubes, cold beers, and stayed away from salads or any other uncooked dishes that would have been washed in tap water. Worked like a charm. Had a good old time after work and no stomach issues whatsoever.

Cancun can only be better, never been there. Have a good time Mr James, but be a bit careful on what you eat & drink mate. Oh I forgot to add, make sure you brush your teeth in bottled water as well
