Laurent Blanc got anything to say about this? He usually steps in and says for players to stay in Ligue 1 for a better chance at making it to the Euro squad.

Hmmm....

They are desperate to get rid of him - they've had a terrible start and want to bring in a new striker, but must first reduce the wage bill. Said wages are going to be a barrier for us: €300.000k a month. That's what, £60k a week?

*the article mentions Lorient and St-Etienne (smallish Ligue 1 clubs), however - so perhaps OM are willing to pay part of his salary.

Meh, dont rate him.  :046:

Why not get bendtner?! On the cheapo!  :048:
Come on Will, Bendtner can't cut the mustard. Gignac is a full french international, playing for a top two team in France. Quality signing

Hasn't played yet under Blanc, I believe.

Blingo

make that 70k IW.

BR is a cracking result for us if we sign him. anything other addition is, in my view, a bonus.

I heard it would be a loan move, with Marseille covering some wages, so we might only end up paying £40k a week

I think you mean  come on zzamora  :54:. True true, and we have decent wingers and good mid to get him back on form. and we have a habit of getting "used to be good" players back up to their sparkling pre "form drop" form.

093.gif Fine sign Gignac!

Not so much todo with any particular signings as such but OM are struggling to hold onto players as many fear for own safety after city is being pleagued by crime, It was in the times.

Gignac's house was burgled last year, apparently.

Yes it was, Marseille players, as Ollie pointed out, are the target of gangs down in the South of France who targeted their houses when they were playing away 3-4 years ago. Now it has got to the point where whole families are in and they are threatened at knife/gun point.

What a sad state of affairs. Come to England Gignac!
