Fernhurst is one of the originals and one of the politest and nicest people on the Fulham interweb. He has been posting in one place or another for as long as I can remember and I will certainly miss you sir.

I am sorry your circumstances have changed sir but totally understand why you are taking your leave now. I wish you a lot of good fortune in the future and hope we may see you again one day.

Thanks for the goodbye as well. I for one prefer to know when people have gone rather than just realising they have not posted for a while. Some of us come on here for the people as well as the football and it makes a difference when people leave.

...a day later and this still hasn't hit home. I am actually quite upset by this news, it is very sudden without any hint of problems which the FOF community may have been able to offer help with, as we have done before - or at the very least offer support. Sadly as he has deleted his own account we no longer have access to his e-mail address and so cannot enquire about his well being.

They say you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone, I'm truly going to miss him until hopefully his circumstances change.

...sadly, as he closed his own account all his records had gone before I could try to contact him and so we have no point of contact. I think in time, when he is ready Private Godfrey Fernhurst will make a comeback. All I do know is that I miss him, one of the 'Old FoFtempibles' in the early days...
