I'm sure most good people would hire a reliable person to do work, as I said you employ someone if they can do a good job and obviously the people you're stating wouldn't. Plenty of dodgy tradesman out there from all walks of life.

Not to condone the conduct because I loathe John Terry but does anyone else not think that it is scary that a man can be prosecuted criminally for what he says on the pitch/by insulting another player?   The whole concept it absurd.

Well, your Lordship, I think the counterveiling argument -- made elsewhere in this thread -- is that if it's against the law on the street or in any other workplace, what's so special about a football pitch that makes it legal there? Footballers have been arrested for violent conduct on the pitch in the past -- although the rugby thug who slammed an opponent with a HUGE MF'n fist continues to play for England. Since I no longer live in England, I have no idea of the state of current law there as concerns speech, etc., but setting all moral arguments aside, if it's against the law -- it's against the law.

MY greatest surprise in this thread is that it has yielded no comment from my VERY large friend from Cleveland, Mr. SteveM19, who has hated Mr. Terry since he and some of his Chelsea teammates drunkenly taunted American tourists about 9/11. The Yanks were stranded in London, unable to get home since the attacks had occurred just a week before.

Lol, most people aren't foolish enough to fall for it? Plenty of people con old people though. Not all of them are gypsies and not all gypsies do it. As for poor and oppressed, I never said that either although a lot of gypsy kids at school get bullied and stop attending which is why a lot of them turn to these crimes.
