Anyway back to the transfers.

The Telegraph are linking us with a deadline day bid for Jack Butland.

It would be great if we could get him.

I'm assuming midnight?

Actually it shuts at 11 GMT

why have we signed another right back>? For me reither has been outstanding and looks fresh in my eyes still, yes we need cover there but surely baird can do the job?

Ive heard the guy coming is quite handy so do you think he will be pushed up field?

Maybe a 5,4,1 formatin with Wing backs.... I don't have a clue

I think another RB is prudent.  Riether has been so good that we may need an insurance policy in case he becomes hard to sign for real.  And Baird scares the bejeezus out of me as cover at that position.

This season's problem has been too many players only being "able to do the job". Better cover is needed, especially if Reither gets injured.

May also be for next season, if Reither isn't certain.

Not a January rumor, but rather shockingly @MLSTransfer just claimed on twitter that Karagounis is in talks with the San Jose Earthquakes about coming to MLS in May.

Aren't they based in San Fran?

Scrap that... Near San Fran. If that happens then he'll  have spent his career in Athens, Milan, London and California. Tough life.

Huddlestone would be class, Emanuelson is a top signing , Frei will struggle to get a look in now

Jol on Huddlestone: 'It's difficult to get a perm transfer like that. I started five wks ago and it won't happen on the last day.'

Nobody get their hopes up on Huddlestone then, think he confirmed the Emmanuelson signing though.

I wouldn't write it off as he has only been given permission to talk avb said so things can easily get sorted and we all know that Fulham never come out and confirm a signing or speculate unless the ink is dry on the contract

I think Jol meant it, he's not one for playing games a la Redknapp. Hopefully that will scare Levy into dropping the price or the board into signing off the price demanded.

Why would Milan want Kasami if he cant get a game here?  Someone, somewhere, is missing something.
He did very well when he was in italy last time. And him and Jol must have some disconnection with each other.

I certainly don't see why he at least haven't been on our bench more than he have.

If something is in the cards then they(milan) must feel they can bring him to life again. Would enjoy this for Kasami as I actually think he got potential, and feel a little sad that he seem so far from our team, especially with the options we had so far this season.

Tbh. I have loved our greek this second third of our season, but next season he should/would hopefully only be a quallity sub. So if he can get a sweet deal for a few years and move his family to a sunny place and enjoy life, football and so forth, I'll be happy for him. If he stays for another season I'll be happy too. - I guess thats a win win situation  :dft009:

Manolev is a good cover for either RB or RM. He has mostly played in midfield for the national team but i haven't been watching the games recently to know more.

However he's been hot and cold at PSV. Still he has played enough games in the European competitions as well as the league.

About Kasami I tend to agree with Kya. He hasn't been terrible when used at Fulham but wasn't impressive either. However he's been quite good in Serie A and probably is more suited to the type of football there.

tomorrow will be a very interesting day. as far as i know we're still very heavily linked with

okore
malanda
emanuelson
butland
huddlestone
manolev

and if we add any two/three of them to frimpong and david, i'd consider this a tidy little transfer window :)

Would love to announce Emanuelson early doors this morning as I feel it will take a bit of pressure off the club and relax us fans. Then I'd love to see Big Tom and Butland come in personally. Wouldn't mind the Butland deal seeing him loaned back for the rest of the season though. Anything else, especially a centre half, will be a bonus for me.

Yup, it's about an hour south of SF -- it's my local club and a few others on this board as well.  I would love to be able to keep cheering for him next year in one way or another.

:plus one:

That would be a perfect deadline day for me. Butland is the one that would make my day, gk may not be the biggest need but when you've got the chance to add an extremely talented young keeper for a few mil its a no brainer.

Butland's a waste of money. We already have a young keeper who actually has played Premier League football and won't start until Schwarzer hangs them up. Why spend transfer cash?
