Newcastle v FULHAM Match Thread
« on: April 07, 2013, 02:00:44 PM »
3pm KO

Big game for both teams, a chance for us to extend our unbeaten run and try and get 3 wins on the bounce which would be a first for this season, whilst Newcastle REALLY need 3 points today otherwise they could be in some trouble. However, for some reason I feel optimistic about this one which is probably a never good sign..

0-1 Fulham (Berba)

My initial reaction is that we’re going to get over-run in midfield. I know Sidwell isn’t the most technical of players but he’s been solid and formed a good partnership with the Greek.

We’re also going to miss Dejagah. Again, he’s been on top form lately and links up well with Riether but as it was proved against QPR we lacked pace when he went off.

My fear is that we’ve got to change things again and when that happens, we fall apart. I’ve also been wrong many times this season so here’s hoping!

Is Petric injured? Doesn't ever seem to even make the bench nowadays.

I personally rate Petric, he's been so unlucky this season and deserves a chance at premier league level even if it's not with us.

Petric has a hamstring problem and will be out for 2 weeks. Will be good to see how the two new players do.

I quite fancy us today for some reason

Likely why they're both playing.  Would like to see Frei on at some point though, coming back from injury so a start was unlikely but the kid has talent.

Jol was very shrewd in the pre-match talk where he indicated he would be playing Berba in the hole. Something I certainly dreaded. Outrageous mind games. Trying to throw Newcastle off the scent. Well played sire.

Enoh looks good. We need to push up though, we're inviting them on to us.
