Indeed. It would appear that we've opted for 'safety first' and decided that the risk of losing Bent to Palace is no longer worth the wait for the possibility to sign Osvaldo.

Is this the right strategy? (Sky are currently talking up Southampton's chances.) Our action would seem to have been driven by the fact that there appears to be no other viable option. (Troy Deeney? Hmmm.)

He isn't as good as Berbatov either, we play one up front, he could end up being a very expensive bench warmer for us too. Would require a complete re think in terms of formation to fit him in to the side.
