I posted the following text on a different topic, but I will allso try to encourage you guys, this topic will be a long one, but I will add our fixtures, as well as Cardiff, Sunderland and Palace, to show what MY personal predictions will be and end result of table! Keep in mind though that I leave out West Ham! Or else this topic will be to long, but have them and west brom in mind as well as Norwich, since there is only 6 points difference from BOTTOM team to Hull as it is today! But I will show those 4 fixtures, with my predictions, it will be a long topic and end points I show is with the best results to all 4 teams! This means that I have maybe set 3 points for Cardiff against Sunderland, as well as 3 points for Sunderland against Cardiff, so again points is with BEST result for all teams!! Now for my "speach"..

I think Swansea are doable. If RM gets a grip of our defence. Southampton as well. I just wont and cant give up my optimism, and my hope for this club. Fulham means to much to me so I just cant give up now!!! I know we are in a bad situation I know we are in a higher rate of going down looking at our fixtures. But remember the other clubs are playing just as many games as us! Is it granted Sunderland will keep harvesting points? Is it granted Solskjaer will save Cardiff? Is it granted Palace will survive? NO. They have to play the same amount of matches like us. Many the same matches as well against tough teams. We call ourselves supporters, so support! But we cant give up now. Not until its really over!! I am sorry but I refuse to give up my Fulham. I refuse to even think that we are going down until its confirmed on paper, by points. Until then I will believe!! I still believe and I want to believe!!!! COYW!!!

Now I am going to compare our fixtures with Cardiff, Sunderland, and Palace, I will not bring in West Ham even though I should, with my predictions:

Nr 19: Sunderland 35p
Nr 20: Palace       27p

Remember this is MY personal predictions of Fulham, Cardiff, Sunderland, Palace. Do you personally think from Palace fixtures they will do better then us? I am not saying we WILL get 40 points but I for sure think with these fixtures we WILL do better than Palace, Sunerland and Cardiff, maybe I am wrong but then we have Norwich and West Ham as well, this isnt over!!

Nightwind15

Dancing around relegation is a way of life.  i really do not care for it but it does make life exciting knowing your team will always escape by the skin of its teeth.  This year will be another of those years.
I played in the first match I ever saw!

JackyFulham90

Our run is very decent, Norwich have a terrible run in so unless they get some points from the next 10 they will be going down

These pretty much match my predictions Fulham-wise. I didn't look at other team fixtures tho.

On a positive note, I'd also point out that almost every recent season, we have had a pleasant "surprise away win". Which I believe will happen this season too.

I still believe we will be ok.

On a side note. as I've stated before, I still have belief in my WBA to be relagated bet.

COYW!
Siblings, let us not be down on it.
One total catastrophe like this...is just the beginning !

It is easy to be positive but the realists have to point out there is no evidence we can do better then any of the teams around us whoever we play. Yes we may turn it around. So far we have shown more positive attitude but are just incapable of doing it on the pitch.

Hope beyond hope we can pull ourselves out of this. Nothing so far to prove we can.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

I hate to be negative, I do believe we will stay up.
Well done for all of the work you did on this, however
predicting results is virtually impossible.
An example of this would be, if you had done all of
these calculations on Friday I'm sure your calculations
would show we had 43 points at the end of the season.

Ofcourse it would be 43, because I allways try to stay possitive, I allwasy try, if someone else start theire own predidction they will most likely end up with a different result, but look away from my points and result and just look at the fixtures, Palace is the team with the hardest fixtures to come in my oppinion, with allso th worst team IMO, I think Sunderlad will fall again, theire good run right now will stop I think, then its up to Solskjær to save cardiff, but hes priorities has gone wrong in buying players right now. Buying Eikrem and Mats Møller, I dont think they are up to PL right now, I think Cardiff therefore will have a harder run than us, and Norwich is very unpredictable as well. OFcourse it may be wrong to look at others fixtures because our team has to perform themselves, but the fact, that these other teams has a difficult run to come cant be argued with either.! THerefore I believe :)

The trouble with predictions is they are generally fiction, because absolutely no one on earth can predict what will happen in each match, a dodgy penalty, a dodgy ref decision an own goal, anything, every single game we play we have a chance to win, because if we don't have then there is no point whatsoever in playing the game, so my simple view is i will not give up on anything until such time mathematics make it impossible for us to stay up (if that happens of course), how many people predicted that we would have 4 goals past yesterday?.

Ok  i will get comebacks about the upcoming games, but quite honestly if we really feel that we have no chance then why do we bother to turn up each week, i certainly never go to games with a negative thought.

I am not in anyway making light of things, i guess there are plenty out there who really feel that we are going down, well that is their problem to deal with, i certainly don't worry about these things.

I agree with you both.
Who would have predicted the win at Man City and

Portsmouth 0 Fulham 1

Possibly a forgotten fact and I'm sure I'm right.  The year Reading went down,, in both fixtures we scored late winners against them.  This caused a massive overall swing in both teams points totals, which meant effectively that they went down and we stayed up.
Can any clarify this or did I dream it  :0)

The way we are shipping goals - and it seems to be getting worse not better - means I am very worried that we will go down and I can't see where we are going to pick up points as we can't even grind out draws this year. However, the only evidence I can point to that we will stay up is that we are not currently in the relegation zone so there ARE 3 worse teams than us over 21 games and as they say, by this stage of the season, the table doesn't lie.

The case for the defence rests, m'lud (and that's not the case for the Fulham defence by the way)

I'm now resigned to relegation. I feel calmer now than yesterday about it. Each win or draw we get when I am at a match will be a bonus, plus a step to the possibility of us surviving. I always say think and prepare for the worse and it may never happen. I'm being positive about my being negative.

Thanks again for doing all that maths. I also had a gander at the fixtures to May and it does indeed suggest that the argument for us to survive this season has fairly good chance.

However, football is a funny old game and given our defensive frailties at the moment we are more likely to lose our matches, regardless of opponent, than draw or win them. Simple fact is any attack on our back line meets little or no resistance. We can't rely on other teams failing in the same fashion as ourselves, law of sod dictates that they'll all get a rub of the green and collect 6 or so points off the bigger clubs. Nor can we surmise that other clubs signing will be under par, (Solskjær to save cardiff, but hes priorities has gone wrong in buying players right now. Buying Eikrem and Mats Møller, I dont think they are up to PL right now) how can anyone possibly deduce that these signings won't be PL standard, OGS thinks they'll do a job, and at the very least Cardiff are reinforcing their squad something Fulham have thus far been unable/unwilling to do.

Our future is entirely in the hands of the players and coaching staff, if they get it right we'll be okay, if not we're gone and I guess that's the right and proper way it should be.

I am, for the sake of my own sanity, trying to be positive, but it's hard man, you know, it's hard. 090.gif

I think I watched all of Moldes match last season, and Mats Møller is good but he doesnt have the PL standards yet, thats my oppinion, but allso many experts and former pro players oppinion, they as well mentions he may be doing a big mistake signing those two young Norwegians, Eikrem was doing soso for Herenveen having 13 appearances..

I've always been an optimistic fan I would guess at

A - Arsenal - 0
A - Swansea - 1
H - Southampton - 3
A - Man Utd - 0
H - Liverpool - 0
A - West Brom - 3
H - Chelsea - 0
A - Cardiff - 1
H - Newcastle - 3
A - Man City - 0
H - Everton - 0
A - Aston Villa - 1
H - Norwich - 3
A - Spurs - 0
H - Hull - 1
A - Stoke - 0
H - Palace - 3

That would be another 19 points which will give us 38 hopefully that will be enough. Yesterday was a massive set back the return of Hangeland & Stekelenburg will make us harder to beat.

Rene's team has let in 20 goals in the last six premiership games but he seems to be doing little about it, if this situation is allowed to continue unchecked we are going down.  A new central defender and left back should have been identified a month or so ago and signed in the first week of the window.

It is difficult to be positive when we see little being done to cure obvious weaknesses .

Despair at THIS board. I seem to remember people slagging some of us off when we dared mention our opinions on Jol. Think positive they said, he is a great coach they said. Then some of us dared mention that spending no money would mean a slide down the league. But we were told that we want to put our club into bankruptcy and don't support our club. Some of us said we need pace in the side. We don't know what we are talking about we were told. Well so far more and more posts reflect what some have said for years. You want to despair? We all have our opinions but some us have more right to despair than others.
