Has anyone picked up whispers of us ground-sharing with QPR at Old Oak Common?

A mate of mine who has been following the Rs for decades, and who is not prone to flights of fancy, texted me last night to say that this rumour was doing the rounds at QPR yesterday.

Anyone here picked up anything?

Hopefully nothing to it.

Yep was told  a while back by a Rangers mate with some connections over there that something was brewing along those lines. Was also told by a Fulham mate yesterday that Khan wants to move us over to East London?, the person who told me this knows a few bods at Fulham and isnt prone to flights of fancy. He wasnt prepared to tell me who told him but said this is very real and not bs

Fulham Park Rangers all over again? If true & if Khan is really thinking along those lines I want him out of our club ASAP. Just for entertaining the idea of taking us from our home & sharing with that lot, knowing that every single Fulham fan would be against the idea shows his intentions for buying us are all wrong.

So Khan's reaction to the idea of sharing with QPR is to move us as far away as possible from that source of contagion. The man's a hero.

Just the location to sort out then. Hackney Marsh? Fairlop Water (includes a golf course)? Mucking Flats? I believe a bunch of Claret and Blue porno merchants have got some spare real estate in that neck of the woods.

Burt

The location would allegedly be the new stadium the Rs are looking to move to in Old Oak Common.

Here was his response when I said I hadn't picked up on anything, and that it was interesting to see that BZ had got on the scoresheet yesterday:

Maybe it's just paranoia on the part of the Rangers fans. I could see some logic behind it though. Apparently Hammersmith and Fulham Council are going to play a big part in the development of Old Oak Common. I'm sure every property developer in London would love to get their hands on Craven Cottage - appalling though that would be. I'm looking forward to getting along to the Nigeria v Scotland game there on 28th May.

Yes, that was a good result yesterday for Fulham. It's still very tight at the bottom. I think you still have a good chance of staying up. I am amazed that Palace have managed to turn things around.

Rangers were better yesterday, but we're not a great side in a not very good division. Yes, Zamora scored but to be frank he has been pretty awful for us since he signed. Andy Johnson looks a better player - but the pair of them are always injured! I'd be VERY surprised to see Rangers go up and - if we did - we would have to buy a totally new team.....and so the circle turns.

Now I'm really confused. Do we play one home game at OOC and the next at Mucking Flats? Is South Africa totally out of the equation?

The thing with Khan is that it is not unheard of to move American sports outfits around that country. I hope that this is cobblers....like Nick Clueless Clegg.

Bog beat me to it. Over here owners take teams thousands of miles away to satisfy whatever whims they might have. That is why they give all their teams stupid names, like tigers, dolphins etc (I don't think there are any donkeys though). There are some owners who care nothing about the local support and history.
Here in Boston, 3 of the 4 teams (basketball, ice hockey and baseball) have much support from the community. There was a rumour of the american football team going somewhere. I was hoping for Timbuktu. :005:

I love the cottage but playing devil advocate on the grand scheme of things it does hold the club back, expensive to expand, probably expensive to maintain. People want money spent on the playing side and moan when we cant keep players due to wages or buy players due to lack of funds.

Get the haha to pay for half the new stadium, get the germans in so it finishes on time and on budget, move in watch them go bust and have a new stadium all to ourselves.

But why is it in Europe its not seen as a problem to share with your rivals but in England it seems a complete no no why is this?

SouthfieldWhite

I've heard we will ground share with MK dons or even rumours are that we are moving into the Olympic stadium with Leyton Orient and becoming Leyton Fulham or Fulham Orient, the club will put a poll on the website to decide what name out the 2.
There's also a small chance of ground sharing with Inverness Calidonian Thistle, I know this is true as my milkman told me

fancy watching foot ball played at one of these you? ? Well I don't The Cottage for me every time

terryr

I heard khan was buying them and replacing the players with our under 21's.
As Air Asia is tanking their owner needs $'s.
Then again it's likely that all of this is just another giant wind up.
Still, we need the diversion as it seems some people don't realise....
WE ARE IN A RELEGATION BATTLE.
Or are some still searching for something else to worry about????

Well I heard that some Brits are so gullible they'll believe anything they hear as long as it's about Americans.  :drums:

We should not have turned down Stamford Bridge all those years ago, then there'd be no C*****a.

Like it or not, a groundshare with QPR at a new stadium is far more plausible a rumour than a move to East London which is already saturated with teams including the one due to move into the Olympic stadium.
