Fulham scout link boosts Finnish swoop chances

Fulham have targeted Ajax central defender Niklas Moisander to help them back into the Premier League.

The 28-year-old Finland international has been identified by Felix Magath and his staff as the man to shore up the Cottagers defence next season after helping Ajax to the Dutch title. Moisander joined Ajax for £2.5million in July 2012 after four seasons with AZ Alkmaar but could be available again as his club are looking to bring through a younger central defender in Stefano Denswil. He signed a three-year deal on his arrival in Amsterdam and, with only one year left on his contract, is in a strong position to dictate his next destination. Whether he would opt to play in the Championship with Fulham next season remains to be seen or whether he would prove to be an astute capture at under 6ft tall. Moisander is good friends with Finnish teammate Tim Sparv - whose father scouts for Fulham in Europe. The central defender started in Finland's 2-2 friendly international draw with the Czech Republic on Wednesday night in Helsinki but came off at half-time.

I know nothing about Niklas Moisander.   If Felix is bringing him in then where does that leave Brede and Burn?
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

God The Mechanic

Need to be looking at players 3/4 years younger really.  Unless Amorebieta/Heitinga aren't gonna be here and they're squad players...

Burn could play right wing or in goal the week after, who knows. Crazy formations so don't expect players to actually play where they've played for the majority of their career.

Moisander is a pretty good CB, especially his build up play.  He would deffo be a voor signing for us. The only problem is his height and the fact that he plays Champions League football.

Many players dropped a division when we were in the Championship last time, purely due to wages, but also the possibility of us becominh a big club. Maybe the temptation is there again, well, the money anyway..

At least Beardsley has signed for Stoke. Do we need a right back?

I guess Brede could continue to be Khan's baggageman...

Think what people need to remember is there are going to be a lot of games next year in the Championship, and fingers crossed a cup run we will need depth in the squard and with Bredes back waiting to play up at any time I think its sensible to have some experience centre backs especailly the way we leaked goals last season

Let's hope so, would be a very good signing.

Tall centre backs are not always the best. When Richard Money played for us he didn't do a bad job. So timing is everything and a better balanced centre half would be good.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

That, is the cold hard truth and the outcome of a really pathetic season in the Premiership. Yes, we are now referred to as the like of Charlton and Millwall, unfortunately. Hence the reason why I couldn't even give a damn about what Stoke were doing next season as they are not even in our league.

The striker who pledged his international allegiance to the Republic of Ireland will start pre-season training in a few weeks after being ruled out since February with a knee injury.

Cracking another with a knee problem. Can we just sign someone who not coming back from an injury
