Sometimes because of the rules with regards contracts that can't be helped.
I've explained before why Roberts,  Dembele and Hyndman only had a year left and in the end you can't force a player of any age to sign on the dotted line.

Where would they play?  I know depth is important, but that would be a lot of central players signed this summer with even more from last season when we apparently want to play 4-4-2.

FFC - if we take a low initial amount or especially, low final amount, then we deserve lower league football!

one will be 33 in two months, do we need another player on the decline. and a winger could be handy, but with pringle,kaca,cole,williams,lvc and cairney on the books, i have to ask why we are even looking in that department.

I believe Will Buckley would be a good addition as we only have 2 out and out Right Wingers - Larnell and Plumain, LVC and Cairney can both play there but it is not their strongest position. People are saying we need a DM and I cant think of one much better than Britton although 33 he would be a bargain and on a 1 year deal would be a great bit of business. When I watched him against QPR last year he had a great for Swansea and is a great passer of the ball. I would not say we NEED either but both are good players who would benefit the squad.

Hahaha, I must admit, I'm surprised others haven't said that - though I imagine some think it. I think I end up talking about a tonne of other things in a marathon getting to my actual point. Or answering to other points already in the post whilst getting to my own one so it looks like I've written a book. If I end up waffling, I'll make sure I leave a sentence or so at the end rounding the whole thing up so you don't need to read it all.
