Fulham and QPR target Watford's Gabriele Angella

HITC Sport understands Watford defender Gabriele Angella has emerged as a loan target for Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.

Fulham and Queens Park Rangers are eyeing moves for Watford defender Gabriele Angella as they look to bring in a central defender before the close of the transfer window.

Angella, who signed a new five-year deal at Watford earlier in the summer, has found himself down the pecking order in Quique Sanchez Flores' plans so far this season.

The Italian was an unused substitute in the opening two Premier League games against Everton and West Bromwich Albion, while he was not even in the squad for last weekend's draw with Southampton.

The news has alerted a number of clubs to Angella's possible availability with the 26-year-old playing a key role in Watford's successful promotion from the Championship last season.

Angella made 36 appearances last season for Watford as they finished second in the Championship and his performances have not gone unnoticed.

Fulham are in the market for a new central defender after being frustrated in their attempts to sign long-term Lewis Dunk from Brighton and they could now turn their attentions to Angella.

QPR are also desperate for defensive reinforcements with Chris Ramsey short of cover in central defence and they have missed out on several targets.

This would be a great signing

Why are we ALWAYS coupled with QPR when we're supposedly interested in a player? Do we share the same scout??

Sadly you are probably right, the next six days could see us paying over the odds for a player who is no better than the ones we already have.

thats what i am worried about. this will be a good test of how well we are being run at the moment.  hopefully the management would have planned for the potential of the dunk deal falling through, hopefully they would have had a plan B and C - lets see what happens.

wasn't Tarkowski plan b and Ream c?
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

Riverside

We have not be short of plans .

Dunk was A , Lees and Tarkowski B and C ( not sure which order ) , Ream D and now we are onto at least E .

One through the door I am sure another will arrive before the window closes .

Collins and Turner would be great options IMO. Or Lascelles on loan.

Think they'd all be available too.

Why we didn't keep Turner for another season is anyone's guess.

SKSW6

Considering it's only recently come out that he's surplus at Watford, he's not a "plan" anything. He's a, by all accounts, good player who's just come available.

I think we thought we could get younger/cheaper/quicker players in (Dunk, Tark, Lees, etc) but that hasn't panned out. Really hope we go back for him now. Unquestionably better than what we have.

the club may have plan A all the way through to Z, but it is no good if none of them want to come to Fulham

Celtic eyeing move for Amo according to ESPN
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

horse1031

this is why Mike Rigg is on the staff... we have to trust that we will fill the holes by this weekend.

What a quality signing Matej Vydra would be. Absolute class player

Would be a great signing. And he is young. If we really are interested in him then I think we have a chance, as he wouldn't have to relocate.

From the clubs side I do not think there is any uncertainty, they will give him till late November / Christmas.

You're assuming that the club feel the same way that the supporters do. From the club's perspective, there may be no uncertainty.
