just saw it. dont usually like daniel craig as bond. but this film is really good.

Logicalman

going to see it this weekend. From everything I've read thus far, it's supposed to be one of the best .. if it surpasses Skyfall, then I'll be impressed.

I see the BBC Click program did an item on 007, looking for who would take the role after Craig departs - apart from the one non-english actor being included, the only other one I could not see would be Idris Elba - fantastic actor, but Fleming's original Bond would not have looked upon a non-white actor taking the role. I'm being racist with this, it would be like a non-white actor taking the role or Churchill or Lincoln, just wouldn't sit right for the expectations of who Bond is.
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Yes brilliant. Can't believe they make him kill money penny to save the baddie though

MJG

Seen it,  but found it a too long and could have been edited a bit tighter.
Still a decent Bond film,  but not as good as Skyfall or Casino Royal.

.. and how did those two compare to some of the others in your opinion? I know it's a different actor for the previous to those, but just as a reference perhaps.

It's an ok Bond film. The actions scenes are really great, but the story isn't as gripping as Skyfall nor Casino Royale (two of my favourites ever). It might have the best pure action from a Daniel Craig Bond film that I've seen. It does become fairly long for an ending that's ultimately predicted with about half hour to go.

***VAGUE SPOILER ALERT***

They try to tie together all three previous Craig films but I feel its weak. The idea behind doing that is fantastic, I just don't think it was done as strongly as it could have been... Maybe the next (and probably last) Craig film will fill in the cracks and get that story really going.

yes I get what your saying, but for me regardless of colour, I just don't think idris could pull off the amount of suave that is required to be a good bond. I'd be surprised if tom hardy isn't already lined up to be bond in the film after the next one as I think Daniel is contracted for one more

Bassey the warrior

I thought it was terrible. Skyfall so much better. Huge disappointment.

Massive waste of potential. Reintroducing Spectre doesn't have the desired big effect as they've not had the rights to use it in previous Craig films. For such a massive terrorist organisation, that supposedly played a part in all of Bond's misfortunes/romances/etc., it felt awfully underwhelming and none of the characters really seemed to care that much. It was almost as if they already knew the outcome. Waltz and Seydoux's characters are paper-thin, and, in Waltz's case, it makes me want to watch Inglorious Basterds to see how to write a proper villain. I'll defend the set-pieces, though (unlike a certain team in White), and the opening, continuous tracking shot is gorgeous. As MJG says: needs trimming down.

My favourite is Goldfinger,  followed by From Russia with Love,  then Skyfall,  then You only live twice and  Casino Royale.

And that's my top five.

Spectre is going to be in lower half of all the series.

to be a classic bond film, it needs a classic bond song to. This new one sucks big time, give me Shirley any day of the week. She could probably write and record a better one whilst watching corrie tonight than sams effort

Disappointing for me.  Maybe recent ones have raised my expectations.  Too long, too many "nods to previous Bond scenes", a lack of a story and a predictable end

Ordar

I really didn't like it. It was far too long. Daniel Craig came across as uninterested for most of it. They could have cut half the film out as the plot was extremely weak
