Not seen any outside Putney Bridge Station since we were relegated, that is, until the last few home games and then they have come out of the woodwork, just like the Premier years, strolling through Bishops Park, muttering out of the side of their mouths, "got any spare tickets?"

I appreciate you have a busier forum.I dont think we are over confident. Not seeing a lot of that. I think a tinge a of jealousy maybe from your lot, about the way we   play our football at present. You have your style which is not a problem to Fulham fans but i know which one i prefer watching. As for the media love in , i think they have seen the way we play and that is where it is coming from.  How many times have you been on Sky this season?.
Your lot seem to have Huddersfield beat already, dont see that from our fans regarding Reading.

See this is where the problems come from. I have no idea why you think we would be jealous of you. After 17 years of being out of the top flight watching mostly dross, we finally have a team and club that's owls are proud of. The absolute last thing on the earth we are is jealous of Fulham yet it comes up time and time again which, no disrespect, makes you look up yourself. What makes you so great and us so s**t that we just wish we were you?

Interestingly, you seem to have a much less confident approach to the Reading game than the comments about us a week ago.

As for 'the media love in', i think it's probably just a bit of northern bitterness. Somewhat understandably, the print media in particular is quite London centric though some seem to be portraying you as the greatest team ever to play in the Championship, lest we forget if it hadn't been for Leeds' spectacular collapse, you may well have missed out this year. I'm not saying you were lucky, only that you are in amongst that second tier of teams with the other 3 play off teams and Leeds as all being incredibly closely matched.

I appreciate you are playing with your style, certainly last year, we played a much more open and flowing game and were much more entertaining but come the end of the season, that got us nowhere and we totally changed our approach to the league.

Oooo get her.

If you're not saying "we were lucky" what are you saying?

Yea, you've taking too much notice of the media hype with such throw-away lines such as "London Centric". Sounds like a new London Underground Station.

Anyway apropos about nothing really, I thought you'd like to know that one time Owls keeper Ron Springett never lived in Sheffield in all the years he played for Wednesday. He much preferred to live in London, commuting up on matchdays. Tells you something don't you think. Or then again not.

I'm eighty-nine don't you know.

The envy comment comes from reading the Owls Talk .Have a look at the comments regarding  Fulham .Not sure what has brought it on as i said style of play , scoring loads of goals..Not sure why the vitriol. And not stirred up by any FFC fans on there .Very strange.

Its only a problem to you!

You can't come onto another teams forum, especially when there's this period of rivalry between your team and ours and expect there to be no bias!

I look at other teams forums very occasionally and I have to say FOF is generally reasonable and intelligent in comparison (unless we are arguing with each other about the owners motives etc) but like you I'm biased so that just my opinon.

It would be a strange thing if one clubs forum (which is for "their" clubs supporters) didn't criticise and piss take the opposition.

For you (and the others) to spend sooooo much time on here trying to reason with us and read into whats being said is bonkers, its our forum, our opinions and there's only so many times you can tell us where we are going wrong!

In your mind you probably think your being reasonable and even handed, maybe you are up to a point but its just boring now, sorry nothing personal but give it a rest.

Enjoy the football!

And to get back to the Touts.

"After 17 years of being out of the top flight watching mostly dross" - Sheffield Wednesday ladies and gentlemen, but remember, they have a busier message board.

On the topic of Touts, last game I saw any was the spurs game, stood directly opposite the ground in plain view of the police, who didn't seem bothered.

Sheffield Wednesday the second biggest club in a two club town, always have been always will be,
And that must hurt, really hurt, hence the bitterness being shown .
Breathe and let it go and look forward to your cup final with The Blades again next season.

And to get back to the Touts.

I agree but this guy keeps popping up in various topics singing the same old tune and I felt I had to comment!
I'm not interested in debating with him and will not hijack this topic.

As for the touts, I've twice recently seen the parks police in Bishops park just move them on with no attempt to investigate or arrest.

dhowells21

I guess it kinda makes sense why the police do nothing about them though, in a weird way.

The prime reason they're there is stop any (potential) violence, if they're all tied up popping touts in the back of their vans then they'll miss the real crimes and could be absolute carnage. I know neither is an issue at CC, but at the more populous stadiums / aggressive fan bases then you see why there would be a clear directive to let the smaller stuff go completely.

ffcne

Saw 2 Scandinavians showing interest for Man Utd tickets last season in prem outside Putney Bridge station.
Talks of £200 per ticket then they were escorted to  by so called tout to the heirarchy of touts in Bishops Park and fleeced of £400.

aussierod

Out of curiosity, how does a non club member go about purchasing a ticket? I've seen that tickets aren't released until the lineup is confirmed but what is the process from there?
I'm toying with the idea of flying over there as my girlfriend will be in London around that time and the opportunity to see Fulham play at Wembley is incredibly tempting, however there is no point booking flights if tickets will be near impossible to get. Also, how much do non-tout tickets cost, if I could even get them?
Apologies for not understanding the ticket process too well, however living in Oz tends to mean I'm out of the loop with such things

I make londonowl right in just about everything he says, and it is good when other teams fans come on like this for good sensible debate/chat.

I do it myself on Brentford and QPR boards and am mostly welcomed because I know not to turn it into a contest between 2 bald blokes fighting over a comb. I find debate with local rivals more interesting that a lot of the stuff on here if I'm honest, but a lot of that stems from growing up in their areas.

My honest opinion is that our fans can come across a bit as if our team are world beaters, and bizarrely that 'no-one else wants to play us' - I'm sorry but that's an arrogance that I don't like to perpetuate.

Reading are 3rd for the same reason that we are 6th i.e. they achieved more points over the season.

Yes, we are in good form, but Wednesday had won 6 on the spin until they put their reserves out last week, so I would prefer less over confidence.

Personally I am backing us to succeed but I am not expecting just to turn up and win over 2 legs next week, that's for sure.

Shredhead

I agree with Chesh.
I go on the B+H Albion forum which has a wider range of discussion topics (partly because they don't have the same rules about political discussions) including ones about the area I live in. I am treated fairly and respectfully (probably because I don't support Palarse and because there is a general warm fuzzy feeling towards Fulham). For example, I'm getting recommendations for pubs to watch the 2nd leg of the play-offs in.
I think its healthy to have the views of other fans on here as long as they play by the forum rules.
Also occasionally on Twitter @shredheadFFC

London is bound to get far more attention from the media as there are at the moment more teams in London than any other city, more rivalry more local derbys = more news. Some say that it's harder for a London team to win The English Premier League because of all the tense many  competive derbys they have to play in London. Plus for players London is a big attraction. There is a lot of news to cover.
Anyway we all support our teams for not only because they are local and tribal, it's also traditional. Whether your club has a capacity of 6,000 or 60,000, each club is as important to their fans as any other.
Just because one clubs gates have ten times more coming through the turnstiles doesn't make them more loyal or better supporters, in fact it's generally the other way round.
Can you imagine the size of the crowds if London only had two teams. The stadiums would have to accommodate well over 100,000 supporters, now that would be some Derby and some rivalry.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

What on earth is a pork pie? Is it similar to a quail roulade?

I saw some at the Brentford game, 'Tickets for the game?'

love4ffc

Three things I would like to touch on in this thread.

  • First, to help protect FoF legally we need to state that under s166 of the Public Order Act 1994 it is illegal to resell tickets unless authorised by the match organiser.
  • Second, Politics, relegion and other topics are not allowed on FoF (a football forum) mainly because people don't bring them up to 'discuss', but rather to engage in an argument about them.
  • Third, Londonowl has come to this forum and openly said he enjoys his time watching and attending Fulham.  He has not shown any hostility or malice towards FFC or FoF members and therefore is welcome to post his thoughts and opinions here.

I for one agree with Shredhead and Chesh and find it actually refreshing to hear from the oppisition as it can create good debate.
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

Yeah, but what about the touts. Yet another thread hijacked.
