We had no pressure for 23 games. Last 2 games, with pressure, have come hopeless performances.

What is the point in that run, if we aren't going to go up. The negativity is justified.
bullpoo we lost 1_0 away and your giving up on a team that has the best record in our history
You and the other negative posters on here are just a bunch of wonkers who never achieved a thing in there own personal lives

Ridiculous post.

The point of that run is that it got us into the play offs, and very nearly automatically promoted.

There was also plenty of pressure in that 23 match run. We had a run of 6 games where we were playing all our promotion rivals and we came out on top in all of them. If we'd lost any of those matches, we'd have struggled to keep up with Cardiff, but we won them and were consequently in with a shout right to the very end as a result.

Blimey genitalmen, do I detect an air of hostility. We are after all supporting the same team.
Feelings are always high after a disappointing defeat, but attacking other Fulham supporters whose opinions differ from our own, and i have been guilty myself in the distant past.
But this will not change the course of events. Only the team can make us all happy at the same time, and Monday is as good a time as any.

Come on. Calling the performance tonight hopeless is just frustration talking. We were far from hopeless. I can happily agree our football was ponderous at times. No real change there. Our movement once we reached the final third was condensed and allowed no room to create much. But hopeless it wasn't.

Had we won one nil I for one would still be as nervous for the second leg. No doubt others would be saying how wonderful we are. Point is the debate is like complaining after the first half of any football match. Yes let's have a moan if you want to. But wild attacks on players and fellow fans after a one nil half time defeat where we hit the bar and missed a sitter makes for dull and pointless reading.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Ged I think people are just frustrated.

Also, what's great about football is that it doesn't matter what your background is .. we all get annoyed when we get knocked out the playoffs after coming so close! So let's stick together, eh!

Great to see a lot of new/returning posters these past few weeks by the way. Hope everyone sticks around! We aren't always this stressed and angsty.. promise!

I believe that there's a large contingent on here who want us to fail so that they can -- in their own minds -- prove that they were right all along: that the players aren't interested, that the coach is crap, that Khan wants us to fail so that he can turn CC into a fish-and-chips shop. They've been holding their breath for 23 straight matches, and they're having the time of their lives now.

Just have to stop posting in the message board for a couple hours, lads.

All things considered, everyone played well to me. Wisdom has Sess' number. He and Ayite should have switched sides more than just once in the match to mix things up. Good to see TC take shots, need him to be much more selfish as each shot was quality. Davies shows that he is again an outstanding CB, and proved it by facing "behind" MItro.

Their goal was a mismatch on the backpost, simple enough. Targett's frame compared to Jerome - no match.

I think as long as we don't try to walk the ball into the goal every possession, we will be in much better position. More chances on goal to create chaos in front of it - will definitely secure the win we need. Derby were pretty poor going forward, and I think they know it. Huddlestone is the best player on the team, so we need to put pressure on him asap.

Excited for Monday!

We've lost two in a row, about to lose three,,all they had to do was look at the Birmingham game,,we have no plan B, not negative just a fact,,,dream on.

Nearly. You say nearly. Meaning we failed.

No one expected us to win the games we won during that run, hence no pressure. There was expectation at Birmingham and Derby, and we bottled it.

I don't like failure. If this team doesn't go up, then they are in the same bracket as Symons 2014.

Not sure what would've constituted a good result last night.  Had we won I'd probably have been as concerned due to the risk of complacency.

It'll be interesting to see how the other semi-final plays out.

The personal attacks on so-called negative posters are out of order.  At the root of it is the fear that this team will be dismantled, should promotion elude us.  Sessegnon, Cairney, Fredericks will go.  Though this should generate a substantial transfer fund, the team will need to be re-built and that will take time.  Maybe we will also have to find a new manager.  The parachute payments will be finished. There is also the frustration that we could lose out to a team which finished 13 points behind us.  So, another year and probably more in the Championship is a dispiriting prospect.  In the medium term - maybe three years - if the money is well-spent, prospects will be that much better.

On the other hand, we could easily stick it to Derby on Monday and have a Wembley final to look forward to.

David I

Let's all be ecstatic that we lost the first leg and Derby, the form team, now come to CC on Monday with the advantage. Fantastic, great, over the moon.......

Because, don't forget, it isn't the team with the most goals that is promoted its the team who have the most possession and a run of 23 unbeaten games  ... Oh Wait!?

People are entitled to be frustrated after the last two performances. Everyone's entitled to an opinion and no one opinion is greater than another - Let them vent!

Would Bruce take a 1 Nil defeat if offered it now ? I think he would, when Derby scored last night I feared the worst, if at that point I had been offered a 1 Nil defeat I would have taken it, this isn't all over yet by a long chalk.

It just makes me amazed that all the many posters who used to slag us negative or realistic posters off are now the ones crying at a close 1-0 first leg defeat. Have they not watched us play football before under the present coach? We approached the game as we do most first half of most matches. Our build up play in the final third is slow and then in the second half of matches we try and step it up.

I know we have not hit great form over the last two matches. But hitting the bar and missing the best chance in the game by Ayite against a team who has hit form at the right time is not quite the disaster some are making out. In future I suggest the positive fans should start to think realistically and realise the tie isn't over. Plenty of time to attack the club and coach after the next game.
With you all the way, except there won't be too much time for attacking the club and coach with Wembley tickets to buy....

That is the most ridiculous post I've read for a long time.

Great post people seem to have missed. How do we nullify Huddlestone's cross field balls?

Early in the year we prevented him from sending in those passes by dropping Fonte backwards, and he would sprint around putting pressure on Huddlestone. I'm not sure where StefJo was though, may have to rewatch it, but he is who I thought would've been the high pressure on Huddlestone.
