BTW, while reading this thread I had to Google four different words. You guys may have invented the language but your slang is often odd.

Your absolutely spot on. We did invent the language, and it is Cosha, and sweet as a nut, sweet as. A right touch.

Sorry to be pedantic Woolly but since this is about language it should be: you're.

And "Kosher".

People who attempt to correct me at spelling.
Cosha  is cool or acceptable, kosher is food.

Well that's a new one to Google then!

No, not for me

I'd never heard of it so checked on Google and it isn't there. I assume it's dialect or slang - where does it come from and how long's it been around?

People who say SOCCER.

The weekly football magazine in England in the 1950s/1960s was called "Soccer Star", so it's not an 'Americanism' - though in USA they need to say 'soccer' to differentiate it from their national hand-ball game which, strangely, is called 'football'.  Football can be Rugby, Association or American (maybe others?).  At least 'soccer' means only one thing.  All that said, it's not a word I would ever normally use.

Anyhow :

Shop assistants, etc. who say (or sing) "See you later", when you probably will never see them in your life again.  Everybody seems to do it these days.  In this context, 'later' used to mean 'later on today'.  I'm not fond of 'speak soon' in emails, either.

People who don't even acknowledge e-mails, especially when you've sent them something to their benefit.

Since the Stone Age, like me.
It originated from Isle of Dogs near Millwall.

Litter louts and fly tippers. I despise people who don't respect our environment.

Whilst on the subject of respecting the neighbourhood environment; dog owners who don't pick up their animals' poo.

Agree with it all.
The worst culprits are kids on way to school, just drop or leave their crisp packets and pop tins anywhere.
There is a young girl who was fed up with it and started picking up all the stuff on her way to school.
She got bullied for it and called Trashgirl, she had to change schools...
Terrible.

I belong to a local volunteer group who do area clean ups.  The prevalence of beer cans from Polish breweries is horrendous.  Don't want to stereotype but the evidence is worrying.

Thank you. I never heard my Millwall-supporting ex-colleague use it and it's a totally new one to me. I see that there's a female singer of that name, perhaps there's a connection.

Your welcome, i am happy for your Millwall - supporting ex-colleague if he wishes to contact me to confirm the details, that's fine by me.
Unfortunately I have not heard any singer called Millwall.

Peopele in front of you at supermarket checkouts who look surprised when they are asked to pay...then spend an age looking for their credit card or laboriously start counting out cash. Meanwhile all the other tills that you might have chosen move smoothly.
i haven't read the whole posts on this so mine maybe duplicated.

My pet hate is people who leave their kids with the shopping at the check out and carry on shopping , hence not ready to pay and keep the queue waiting, urggg! Total selfish inconsideration.
