I said it in previous posts, and I'll say it again, Fulham have made some seriously bad decisions over the years both with players and managers.  One in particular comes to mind - a certain Mr (Later Sir) Bobby Robson. Where would we have been in the 60's and 70's certainly not heading towards oblivion as we nearly did had he been in charge
I say give SP another season, then make correct decision.  But first he needs some better support from those above and around him

I do not really like polls like this.
but seeing as it is here I find it very disapointing that parker is getting so muchh of the blame.
He could have done better but not much.

He turned it round once he got decent defenders. we played well, caugght a few teams by suprise at our class and orgnanisation but as we came out of the January window there was never a hope in hell we would turn those good performances into points because we simply did not and do not have a forward line. Being reliant for so long oin a single player to score goals, mitro, was bound to go wrong, and it has. no back ups, no depth in the squad.

Of all the people to blame, parker is not the one. i have no doubt with a couple of better signing we would be sitting respectably just out of iminent danger.

Parker does not desrve the criticism like this and the poll is a a sad reflection on some of our supporters knowedge. And yes, I also think he is too cautiouus and we could be more adventurous, but I cannot say even with that happening, with this squad we would have any more points, it would probably be less.

Parkjer has done a good job. It is not him that is the problem.

When you stop laughing at what you have written, take another look and you will see that Parker and hisdefensive tactics are VERY MUCH TO BLAME.

Keep Scott, no doubt about it, I don't want anybody else, give the man a bloody chance.
If all you outers get your way, we'll be having a poll this time next year to dump the new bloke in charge.
The most successful managers are the managers given time.

If you are commenting on my dyslexic typing, I cannot help that
If you are commenting on my opinion, then you clearly have not been able to coipe with the typing!
When you leak goals the first thing you have to do is stop that and with new players he brilliantly blended the team to become difficult to play.
However as we headed to the end of 2020 it was clear that we had no attacking threat and whilst we pinched a goal here or there if we risked opening up and 'having a go' then we just leaked goals again.
We don't have a forward line, i am not sure what anyone expects, lob the ball in aimlessly, lose possesion and get hit on the break. Chelsea showed that because we actually did attempt to take the game to them but our players are just not up to it. Not Parker's fault.
He could have done better, we all understand that, but not much better.

He has had more than enough time to prove himself and has failed miserably. Sideways and backwards football. Nothing else.

I really like this post, it kinda sums my feelings up.
I want to say too, I was the creator of the poll, I'd also love to know why you dont like polls like this? Because i was considering making more at future times so any feedback would be nice. I already caught an earlier post saying their didnt like how it was worded as it came across biased, and I'll be making myself more aware of biases next time.
But back to the point,
I feel very similar but the poll was never intended to put blame on parker, from a personal view, I wanted to see if the majority of posts I see blaming SP was the general consensus or if a small minority was being the loudest voice.
And while I kinda think parker could have done better I do mostly agree it's fine margins and I expect a lot from the young managers I would give him more time.

One thing that's hard for me is I really didnt like SP as a player, I thought he was kinda over rated, hed run around a lot on the pitch not seemingly doing a lot. I do feel this philosophy is being pushed into our players and do think a change of personal might be all these players need.
But saying that I reckon one good attacking coach who could tutor parker would be enough.

The blueprint is there but our fine margins arent.

Pluto

I'm surprised so many want to keep him on. He's been with us for the past three seasons and has been relegated twice in that time (albeit the first time wasn't really his fault). We scraped promotion last season via the playoffs despite having the best and most expensive squad in the league - quite frankly we were below par for most of that season. This season his tactics have been equally as dire and we've been just as dull to watch, promptly resulting in our deserved relegation.

His ability as a manager reminds me of when he was a player - some tidy stuff at the back, but no real creativity or initiative going forward. Time to move on and invest in a manager with more ideas.

The issue with Parker is that he lost the team's identity in his attempts at all-out-defending. I mention that here in my tweet that shows Joe Bryan's assists alone:

https://twitter.com/Matt10L/status/1389550923907837955

We were leaking goals early this season, but we also had Hector and Ream that could not cope with the PL quality. Andersen and Tosin could - and that was really all that needed changing. Instead, Parker went from a 4-2-3-1 strategy to a mix of 3-4-3's in trying to bend to other opponent's tactics. Every single match, we lacked an identity that we had in the championship. It's not about the players, it's about what those players were instructed to do - and how our manager would rather not lose than win.

If I take away the opinions in this post I feel like its saying well done parker.

But I totally disagree with the lack of identity, being in a place where not many follow fulham I've heard more praise thrown my way this year then any before. Many times have I been told they like watching fulham play, we play nice football.
Well that there is our identity, what we speak when we play against opponents teams, but I have also said in a previous post I feel our passing football is more urgent and lacklustre now. We try to move the ball forward quicker with no real conviction. I do feel parker and his team should be doing more. I mentioned maybe a new attacking coach to lend the hand parker needs?

Algo, absolutely nothing to do with the typing, it was the content buddy.

I'm unsure tbh, I think he has been dealt a difficult hand since Covid and the late arrival from play offs plus early start to the season. Some performances have been good and there have been fine margins in a lot of games. But the tactical attacking element missing in critical games makes me fear the future. Why could he not have played two Strikers in some games ? And why certain players are playing when they are not cutting it time and again.

Roll on next season.

I still believe if Robson had been given time we would not ended up in the wilderness for 30 odd years

Give Parker time so what he can become good and bugger off at the first opportunity like when we offered him an U18 coaching role and he decided to go to Tottenham to coach. Let's not kid ourselves that he loves the club and will stay here. The defence improved because the DoF brought him a new defence. People wouldn't mind keeping him if the football was entertaining but less then a goal a game and backwards and sideways we are bored to death of it and can't take it any more. You can lose but let's look like we want to win. This is the man that set out to defend against Man City twice and lost 3 nil both times I think. So isn't learning.

Brilliant Post. We have incredible loyalty to those that have no loyalty to us. Spurs must be crazy to consider Scott Parker. If Spurs choose an Englishman then it should go to the Best Englishman, not at a BIG SIX or International team (so everyone apart from Southgate). I fail to see how Scott Parker is the Best Coach out of 55 million Englishman (apart from Southgate) just yet.

I agree with your post, but so what if he did 'love the club'.  I'm sure Chris Coleman and Kit Symons both loved the club.  Did it make them perform better in the managerial role?  I'd prefer a mercenary who can make the team perform better.

Loving the loyalty to Parker; if Spurs get on the blower he'd be out of here like a rat up a drainpipe. I agree that changing managers as frequently as your underwear is stupid; however the deciding factor for me is just how utterly tedious and monotonous it has become watching us play. Even in our promotion season it was pretty grim. He's a pound shop Guardiola who seems to care more about the possession stats than anything else.

Sort of thing Levy would do just to try and piss off Tony as I believe TK 100 percent wants his yes man in charge next season .
