Shocker 😱

I'm a huge fan of TC and hope his persistently troublesome knee(s) allow him back on the hallowed turf ASAP but sadly I have my doubts.

Kongolo? I literally don't know what to make of his chances of ever playing for us for a sustained period of matches

gang

Perhaps it would be better if they both retired injured and the club claimed insurance.

Somerset Fulham

The Kongolo thing has been known for ages, hasn't it?  The official has said end of August?

Yeah I don't know why people are making a deal of it because it was said about 2 days after the op he had that he was due back in august. The fact he's even back and kicking a ball in training is a positive because it means he's on or ahead of schedule

Lyle from Hangeland

This doesn't preclude us from an invincible season. Not worried.

AnOldBrownie

Onomah will get more minutes, and Zambo probably won't be going anywhere now.

General

Kongolo has posted two videos of himself on his Instagram in training in the last week alone.

One was by Tete and with a ball at his feet but wasn't training but fully kitted up which I thought may have meant he was in full training.

The second he was doing quite a few thorough excersises, still on his own with a club specialist, but they seemed at quite an advanced stage as he was doing quite a variety of activities all requiring jumping and flexibility of ankles/legs/knees.

There is a lot of potential talent in the squad, Onamah is ready to make his break out season, let's see how he goes in the games before deadline day. Now, Cairney is injured to raise money Anguiissa is almost certainly leaving. We have to stop buying players and see where are weaknesses and strengths lie.

TC I'm disappointed, I was hoping a he would be good to go for this season, though I'm quietly hoping this gives young Carvalho a chance to get some minutes, we are always moaning our talented youngsters don't get enough of a chance.  Kongolo has only started full training in the last week after a year out anybody who thought he was going to play against Boro or Millwall must be crazy.

MartyFFC

Knee injuries can be horrendous, I do worry whether we'll ever see the Cairney we all know and love ever again. Kongolo however appears to be the Dutch Jack Wilshere. Hopefully I'm wrong and he's just been unlucky......

KJS

Time to move TC on he has become a bigger sicknote than Jimmy Bullard was🙄

FulhamStu

I think TC game time will be very much managed.  We need a player to play not so much as a backup but in rotation with him, could that be Seri, or Carvalho, or BDR or maybe all 3.

filham

The real worry is Cairney, that knee problem has been around too long for comfort and we have to question if he will ever command a regular place in our championship team.
Stefjo hase left, Anguissa could well be snatched by a premier team before the window closes and without Cairney our midfield would be Onamah, Reed, Reid ?, Cavalho ?. We need new midfield players.

Lighthouse

I don't understand why the Cairney situation is still discussed. He will never be fit enough to be able to play more games than he misses in the season. It is a tragedy for the player but when the damage he is doing to himself outweigh the expectation.

Kongolo has a history but that doesn't mean he can't recover. But we know that these players are always likely to be problems now.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

blingo

As I have posted elsewhere, they take up two squad places and we need players that can play. Im sorry for them (maybe parking in a disabled space has its way of coming back and biting you on the butt), but we have to look at the bigger picture. They are crocked along with Mawson. Move them on and get players in who don't have knee problems.

Statto

Love all the armchair physios on here using their extensive knowledge of medicine and I assume some psychic powers to discern, through the medium of training ground photos, that Cairney's one injury is career ending whereas the 73 injuries suffered by Kongolo since he signed are all perfectly recoverable

I have been very impressed by the advancement of medical science and qualifications of Doctors on this site. So therefore does anybody on here have any knowledge of how to get rid of the Leeches I picked up recently whilst out on manoeuvres on the Zambezi river.
I have tried salt and also a blow torch and even tried playing songs by somebody called Lulu with her fish wife grated voice at a high volume but some of them are holding their own and won't budge.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Apparently if you've picked up crabs, and you stand on a mirror, they all jump off.

As for the leeches, try putting some money out in the garden. When you go out the leeches will go for the money and you can run back indoors and shut them out.

Well kongolo is not a suprise and doubt he will ever play more than a handful of games for the club.
it was an unecessary signing at the time of a player that was clearly not properly fit.
Shame, he is clearly a good player but in the Mawson mould of why bother signing a player that has issues.

TC is a different kettle. I hope this is not the end of him because he barely played last season and is clearly nowhere near right oif he is still not fit.
He will be a big miss.

Fans always talk about 'taking a punt' on a player, which is one of my least favourite phrases on here. From what I can see the Kongolo situation is an example of why 'taking a punt' is a truly mistaken way to recruit.
