People will react to rumours ie If Tosin goes to Chelsea he can get splinters in his bottom for all I care. Let's not try and make everyone viewing anything here, or reacting to anything here as absolutes or feel the need for people to say that. It should be really obvious.

"Tosin has gone to Chelsea" doesn't really read as a rumour though which was why I queried the original post on the topic, it's worded as if it's a statement or at least that is how I interpreted it anyway

Newcastle in the frame as well apparently.

Sure, but its silly season thread. Unless someone actually links the official, which they do, I'd presume its rumour to be honest.

If he's going to Chelsea then the little respect I had left for his will disappear.

Chelsea should really just keep Chalobah rather than go for Tosin since Chalobah is a little better but that doesn't really fit Chelsea's ridiculous spending plans.

Also, expect this Tosin saga to drag on for a while. His agent(brother) is constantly leaking to journos to create a bidding war. Newcastle supposedly tiring of the situation.

he has poor work rate marco wouldnt have him

I'm not defending Tosin here,  but if your a professional footballer and you can get a transfer to a club down the road, probably increasing your wages by at least 3 times as what he got here, no need to move, potentially a better team, like the majority of professional players it's a career move I don't think he's not doing most players would do given the chance

Haven't seen it either. And don't think he can leave yet, or sign with someone else. Think he has to wait to June.

He can sign anytime and it can be announced, the transfer just won't complete until June. I agree however this story appears just to be rumour at this point.

That sounds incorrect. Clubs can only officially approach players from other English clubs when they enter the last month of their contract. Normally contracts covers June. I don't think he can sign yet. Not that it matters at all in this case, since he'll leave anyway.

Yes. Think most of our players would happily do the same given the opportunity.

With that said, we can still be disappointed in the players that actually make that switch.

Any chance of Summerville from Leeds given that they fell apart again?

Tosin going to Chelsea would be a smart move on his behalf. Does not need to move or unsettle family and in all fairness gets a bumper deal in comparison to what he was on with us having signed as a more potential type who might or might not deliver. Gets European football to a certain degree?
Now the downside? What expectations have Chelsea slumped to if they see him as a starter? and being the answer to replace Thiago I presume? He will never be good enough for a top team who challenge and compete for the major trophies! He is at his ceiling with ability and is not going to suddenly become twice the player going to Chelsea. Good luck to the lad but I can only see him eventually being possibly a squad player at best.

I think it makes a lot of sense actually. From a Chelsea perspective they need money for FFP reasons. If they bring in Tosin on a free transfer and sell Chalobah for £20-25m then it's good business- especially when you consider that Tosin and Chalobah are a similar standard

Chalobah > Tosin.
Albeit Chalobah I gather can occasionally be prone to lapses in his passing similarly. On the whole I feel his ceiling is higher.

Even if it meant exchanging a significant transfer fee (20m?) I think him + Bassey could be a cracking partnership for a couple of years ahead. Athletic, strong, pacey, I like it a lot. Although I think there'll be some competition we might not be able to fend off in the likes of Tottenham or even allegedly Poch if he takes over at Utd

It works for Chelsea ffp wise - ultimately, moving on an academy player is pure profit. And they may feel Tosin at worst isn't considerably worse than Trevoh. So fair enough. They may see Tosin as someone who "can" potentially start and come into his prime there. But who at worst is a free-proven premier league mid-table level player who can come off their bench.

For me he's always been the weaker of our CB's this year and the person I'd have seen as most viable to upgrade on in our defence so whoever we go for, lets hope that's how it materilises. Good to know at worst - we already have Diop at RCB. Who is essentially the same lvel talent wise as Tosin to my eye.

I would't mind him. I think Marco could reignite him.

He's certainly needed a rocket up his backside the few times i've seen him lately.

Don't know if this is rubbish or not but it's the sort of player that makes sense, linked with Kerem Akturkoglu 25-year-old Turkish player for Galatasaray. Plays left wing /Attacking midfield has scored 57 goals in his last 161 appearances.

He scored against Man Utd at Old Trafford (not difficult) in the Champions League and looked very good.

Martial has barely been fit for the past 3 years. No thanks.

I'd much rather Martial Godo than Utd's Martial. We need to be lowering our average age.
