Allegedly rejected €25m for Periera from Marseille

not worth selling for anything under £25m  (ideally more) really at this point, we're in no pressure to move him on

Sell at £25+, buy fab back and use the leftovers to secure CM's we want and we're cooking.

Am I the only one who's not that convinced Fabio is the right man for the job? I'm not convinced he's got what it takes in the PL yet. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan and would love him back, but I don't think he's a direct and ready made replacement who jumps into the starting 11.

I'd keep Andreas for another season, I think there's more to come from him. I think we need a LW more than a AM which is where pereira has been playing and where we now have Iwobi and ESR to fit in for him.

I think Carvalho atm is a luxury we don't need and should prioritise spending our budget on the CM, DM, RCB and LW.

Pereira is at his peak in terms of value based on the contract he has with us, we're very much unlikely to see these sorts of bids again next year and then we start to get into the realms of a player who runs his contract down to get a last payday at a club playing european football. If he wants to go, let him and then reinvest in someone with long term potential.

Fab didn't look out of place in some of his parker PL season apps in a crap team, and when given limited opportunities has shown he has what it takes to make it in the PL. People are clamouring for Stansfield to get a PL opportunity when he's not shown he's got what it takes yet, whereas the very strong consensus between FFC supporters was that Fab looked like one of the best academy prospects we've ever had. He'd likely be behind ESR as a starting #10 anyway, which means he has time to prove himself and gives us the flexibility of both he and ESR playing as a #10 or LW

My approach is you don't sell your leader in assists or key passes from the past season, or in Pereira's case, the season before as well. You play your best players that are familiar with the system, and you try to keep it that way. Pereira can play an 8 or a 10, and with ESR joining the ranks, that 8 is looking quite nice.

From a morale standpoint, I think it'd be a shame if Muniz lost Palhinha, Pereira and Willian all before the season started.

It's incredibly hard to replace Andreas for £25m. I personally think he's worth a little more. We would have to have the right player lined up to before I would let him go- especially as we haven't replaced Palhinha as of yet.

Quote from: @jolslover on August 09, 2024, 01:31:13 PMFrom Globo - usually a good source on Brazilian football

🚨Globo:

Fulham have rejected a €25 million offer from Marseille for Andreas Pereira. Roberto De Zerbi was pushing for him.

Chelsea is yet to move for the player after selling Gallagher.

Andreas has an agreement with Fulham to leave the club this summer.

Seems very present and happy in alot of our posting and interviews currently, and his recent interviews since back from brazil dont seem to point to a player on the imminent way out, well see.

Don't be fooled by PR, we said the exact same thing before Mitro left for Saudi money

I dont think we did,we seemed to avoid the topic alot in depth , and Remember the video of Mitro running alone in the background of a full access video? He wasn't really featuring in drills etc. For a long time.

He certainly wasnt featuring in tons of photos, interviews and posts all happy.

Not saying that defines anything too much and things can changed, but mitro situation was very different to this, he certainly wasnt participating in "hot seat" interviews etc.

At the end of the season, he gave an interview and said Fulham was his home and he loves it here, yadda, yadda. He was, at that stage, the most beloved player in the team so I'm not buying anything any player says at this point.

Correct but this was before the summer started and it became clear the Saudis were interested. Once that happened and reports came out Mitro was pushing for the move, he dropped off the face of the earth in our club content.

I was referring specifically to the loose report linked saying Andres has some sort of actual agreement with the club to leave this summer...
If that were the established case I find it hard to believe we'd be featuring him as prevalently as we are in club interviews, going out their way to pose him in the new away kit etc.

Its not the be-all and end-all, and agree one can't take it to the bank, but it seems unlikely he's a pre-agreed departure. If we get a high enough transfer offer I'm sure it'd be considered mind you, but he looks pretty content here and doubt we'd willingly want to move him on without a fee significant enough to not ignore. Marseille also have no European football this year in a worse league so I'd be surprised if it appealed to Andreas who's stated if/when he moves on he wants to play at the top and stay in contention for the Brazil squad.

Unless there is evidence of otherwise, the article about our supposed interest in Fabio looks like the typical "returns to his old club"-rumor that newspaper/agents often used because I cant see how and why we would sign him.

I really like Fabio but it would very much be a luxury signing that we dont really need, unless we sell Pereira.

As things stand, we already have 6 players for our LW/AMC/RW with Andreas being our main 10 and ESR our main LW I would say. If Andreas gets injured, he will likely be replaced by ESR and Iwobi slots into the LW. We also have Sess who can play LW, Iwobi can play AMC and out on the right we have Wilson and Traore.

Adding Fabio to that mix would just be a waste, quite simply. For him especially since he needs to play at a club that values him as a starter.

Us haggling over a couple of millions for McTominay and André and at the same time spending 15-20 mil for a position which we are already well equipped whereas other areas are in dire need of quality reinforcement - that simply doesnt make any sense

This morning we were quoted as having an interest of Galeno who plays for Porto, but he was going to Juve. They're since rumoured to have pulled out of the deal to focus on someone else so maybe one to keep an eye on?

McBrideOfFrankenstein

It's been wonderful having so many Brazilians at the club at one time and I hope they all stick around 🇧🇷 AP goes under the radar sometimes but in a way he's been the defining player of this PL run.

I've had a look at his stats and I've had a look at some clips on YouTube- he looks great. Fits the right age profile that the club usually go for, if it happens it could be a great move for the club.

If he comes in I think Andreas will go and ESR will play exclusively down the middle with Galeno on the left.

Jules

Pereira is a full Brazil international. He is worth at least £30m. Though, we need to try and keep him. His pressing and assists would be hard to replace.

His assists aren't that high if you consider that he takes most corners and free kicks. Antonee Robinson who gets abuse all the time for not being able to cross only had one assist fewer than Pereira.

Pressing would be the thing we would miss the most.

hovewhite

Andreas really hardworking whilst also the 1st line of defense with his pressing and think 30 million isn't enough.

Somerset Fulham

Solanke is having a medical at Spurs.

SerbianLad

50 million should be an absolute minimum for AP imo, considering his age, profile, him being a Brazilian international, etc. Even then, I'd still probably keep him. We already sold Mitro and Palhinha for very high fees, surely we don't really need money now?

Quote from: Angus Telford on August 09, 2024, 05:43:38 PMGaleno is linked with Juve, Roma and even Forest. We never go into that sort of auction situation. Don't think there's any truth in that one.

Kilicsoy or Richarlison would be great but not how plausible they are either.

Costa I will only believe if the fee is £10m or less.

Feels like we're going to do the rest of our business in the last days/hours of the window.

Doesn't look like it even got going in the end:

Sorry but he's never worth anywhere near £50m, considering he's an attacking midfielder who doesn't score or get that many assists from open play. If he played for another mid table PL team, would you really want us paying £50m for him?
