Ya never know... 😅

Excellent Twitter sleuthing to dig all of these up! Certainly very odd behaviour isn't it...

Agreed, definitely doesn't seem like a normal reaction to winning a game.. all very routine to win and go off with other players instead of stay back and soak everything up.

Also this one - I mean maybe Jay and I are going into overdrive with this but his body language seems odd for a man who's just won a big game, seems very much like a man who's taking it in for the last time but who knows, silly season in full swing so why not have a "here we go" moment 3 days running, Shad is in town after all!

What's the shad in town bit? Have seen it mentioned a couple of times but not sure what it's referring to as haven't seen any pics on Fulham official channels.

The andré saga has been going on a long time, apparently as he was walking back to the changing room the fans were chanting that he was the best midfielder in Brazil which is why he acknowledged it.

Have to admit, his body language definitely looked deeply reflective and when someone came over to help him up, it also came across as if he was being kinda dragged away and led away without really wanting to go off the pitch at that time..

Have to admit, when your home games are often played at the maracana, an 80k stadium, coming to the PL and cottage may seem like quite an odd shift..

He's clearly loved by Fluminense fans and had a seemingly close bond with the club, I hope he comes to us on his own terms and wants to and with enthusiasm.. worry that if its a move that goes against what he's feeling he may not be the man for us.. which is weird to say as I always felt he was a player who wanted to come and their board was just playing difficult.

If he does come to Fulham, I hope he's welcomed warmly into the fulham family and finds a place he can thrive and call a second home.. with Muniz, Pereira, Jimenez, Cuenca and Traore all giving him a platform to settle in and feel part of things quickly alongside Marco and his team.

Always mixed feelings seeing videos like that.. but hopefully it'll all work out for the best.

It might not be us hes going to so hold the horses and talk of settling in for now! 😂

Id love it as an addition to Berge if possible, but airing on the side of assuming we wouldn't spend that much... Surely, Would we? not alot out there of any deal for him since our bid waa rejected ao who knows

agree it certainly feels like a farewell regardless though wherever hes heading

So, rumours were we had £100m prior to selling Palhinha, give or take, to spend this summer.. some I saw suggested we had £120m.. add in Palhinha.. and maybe a bit of residue from the Mitro fee and you could be looking at anything to spend between £100m £150m+ to spend this summer.

£27m esr
£7m Cuenca
Free sess

= £34m, to rise to £41m? If all add ons are met.

So depending on how you structure it, you'd have £66m to £116m left to spend give or take..

Berge £20m (£25m with add ons)
Andersen £25m (£30m add ons)
André £20m/£25m/£30m Inc add ons..?

That'd take us to maxing out our bottom level on the £100m and going just over

Berge £25m
Andersen £30m
André £30m

Total: £85m max

Or

Berge £20m
Andersen £25m
André £25m

Total: £70 max.

Bringing running total to

34+ 70m - £104m

Or

Max

£41 + £85m - £126m

Both sums aligned with figures going around of potential estimates we have to spend and neatly fitting inside or close to those levels.

That'd fill the number 6 role if we got andré in, which Marco said he wanted and gave impression in his man utd interviews that he knew we would be getting in a DM. I'd suggest Berge isn't that out and out DM and André is.. marcos confidence and seeing André this evening do tie up.. but is obviously conjecture without really knowing.

That'd leave us to get one extra front line player.. which if we're working from the bottom sums, so £104m as a base, not including palhinha money, could give us £20m-£50m to play with for another front line option, or if we work on the max assumptions including addons then potentially up to £24m for an extra front line player (if we were to buy permanently and not get in on loan).

Weren't we linked with Wesley for circa 20m?

It's all trying to fit each signing into a budget I'm not 100% sure about.. but the rudimentary maths based on what others are suggesting does add up to a degree.

Who knows, I don't really, but just basing everything of info available..

If we got andré in and a LW on top of Andersen and Berge then this could possibly be the best window we've ever had at the club in my time supporting it (if they players we get in do actually do well for us like we hope they will).

Seems conceivable as you say and Id say wed be likely to cash in on a midfielder id think in that instance.

Who knows ultimately and were of course fully embracing silly season here with alot of speculation but one can dream of course!

Not long till well know either way!

Saw Everton mentioned recently but also said they would need to raise funds first. They should buy Reed from us who'll be cheaper and fit Dyche better instead then we buy Andre.

I don't think we're needing to sell Reed or any of our players from here on in aside from Vinicius and Mbabu. If we keep Reed then we've got two players in every position on the pitch, should we sign Andersen, Berge, Andre and a LW.

That's 22 players exactly and two players for each position, topped up with Stansfield and a few other academy players and you got a healthy 25 man squad.

We've had Reed with us for so long now too, that you don't have to worry about costs I'd have imagined beyond wages.

Get those players through the door and then the next however many summers is just about developing the squad from an already relatively strong place (if they all sign).

Weaknesses in that instance to address over a couple of windows, or summers, whilst we've got the majority of the squad on long term deals.. would be at Striker position and then boosting the squad with younger players.. which would probably in time mean seeing Cairney replaced, then Jimenez, and then after those two, you're looking at Pereira and Reed to see how they come on and whether they can push on and develop when faced with competition for places or end up moving on.

Then the big question will be around players who are currently considered young, with potential and seeing how they come along.. Muniz, Sessegnon etc.

I said we'd spend £100 to £125m this summer with FFP room I thought we had. Marco said we're defo buying a 6 are Berge is really more of an 8. Just saying. LOL

Watch him turn up at Forrest out of nowhere next few days.

I agree we don't need to sell Reed, but if you're him looking at the squad he is probably 3rd choice at 6 behind Berge and Lukic and 4th choice at 8 behind Pereira, Lukic and Berge. If we get Andre then that's probably him 4th choice at 6 as well. He would probably see that and want to leave and in the case of a good bid coming in we would be smart to accept it.

I don't see that.

I have two dms in Reed and André

I'd put lukic and berge as box to box

And then cairney is slightly surplus as an AM/CM behind Lukic and Berge and Pereira and ESR.

Lol.

Berge, has apparently had a medical and fee was agreed.

Andersen fee has apparently been agreed.

The only speculative one is andré, which we're acknowledging, but saying there is smoke there... and he has been a long term target, and we have had an initial bid rejected and confirmed by Fluminense's president.

I even forgot Cairney. I just don't see how he Reed plays if we have all those midfielders in unless there is an extreme injury crisis and I feel like he would recognize that. You say Lukic is box to box and that's probably his best position but he is already starting over Reed at the 6. Don't know exactly where Marco sees Berge but he isn't one to pinhole players to a specific position. He will put guys in the 6 from the 8 rather than move strictly down a 6 only order. Like how Pereira is currently the 8 and the primary backup to ESR at the 10.

It's an interesting conundrum that's for sure.

What I think happens though in this instance is what happened last season and what guardiola does with his squad.

To maintain competitiveness on all fronts you refresh the starting line up often and ensure the strength of the squad allows you to compete on multiple fronts.

So where in the past players complained about playing too many games, especially if in Europe or when cup games fill up the calendar, or a busy Christmas period, or when players have come back from a summer of tournaments, you start sharing the load of games more easily around the squad.

I first noticed that's what guardiola did relatively recently at Man City due to Fantasy football randomly, was umming and ahhing about which city players to put in and looking for consistency and reliability in who to pick and noticed that very few of city's players play more than 28 games.

In fact last season, their main defensive players all seemingly played exactly 28 games aside from Ederson in the league.

It allows for high performance, utilising an entire squad without players not getting game time..

Then, in addition to that you manage the time players play in games more, another thing I noticed with Man City..

So instead of De Bruyne playing the full 90 every match, he plays 90, 60, 70, 20 minutes depending on the rotation and games..

In that dynamic and with the ability to use more subs in games now and have bigger benches, you can quite easily account for every player in that squad with all the new players coming in.

Then, you take a look at Marcos preferences, which is to have players who can have different qualities and playing styles that are suited to different opponents and you realise its a much more holistic and health approach to utilising the full squad, maintaining the fitness levels across the board and the league gets more and more competitive as a result.

So let's say esr plays league games, but comes off on 70 mins from time to time, with he and Pereira switching on cup games depending on the opposition.

Or, we need three at the back or better ball playing CBs, or are up against a team that is shorter or weaker at defending set pieces, or aren't as fast...

Then you play around with using Cuenca instead of Bassey for the odd game where pace is less of an issue.. or you use berge instead of Reed or andré in a holding role because he's 6ft 4.

You dont use traore because the quality of the opposition means we don't have to rely on pace or counter attacks as much, so we use Wilson..

Etc etc..

Problem is that Silva clearly disagrees with your assessment. Lukic has been starting ahead of Reed both at DM and CM.

Fluminese have messed us around too much. If we sign Andre I hope it's a cut price deal. Berge is a better signing in that position on the face of it IMO.

So it feels like the final two important pieces of the puzzle is finally set (and ITS NOT EVEN ON DEADLINE DAY, WHATS GOING ON FFC!?)

Berge and Andersen it is then. Not the Joga Bonito Brazilian duo we once thought in Carlos and André but instead two Scandinavian vikings : Im happy with that tbh. Two solid players that will slot right into our XI. Andersens right foot is really good and will work for us playing out the back as well as going long at times. He is proven in the prem and is familiar with the club.

I also really like when we strengthen our XI and weakens a direct league rival in one fell swoop.

Lets see if we get that final attacking player in

Totally disagree if we are talking about Berge being better in defensive midfield position than Andre! Would go as far to say Andre is much technically superior.

Ha, well i'm glad to see i'm not the only one emotionally invested in the André pursuit. Let's hope the club still want him.

Like others have said he's a different profile to Berge so might not be over yet.

Holders

I looked up Flu's result last night and disappointed to see that they progressed on penalties until I saw the Andre video, which is quite revealing, in my view. He's definitely off somewhere and perhaps it coincides with the window closing.

Never seen Andre play as I have said before so cannot comment on that side of things, however I keep coming back to something Marco said after we got promoted. He didn't keep Seri as we needed a different profile in the position, we then signed JP who was taller, more physical type of player. Andre seems similar to Seri in a build type perspective and Berge more like JP, perhaps thats what he meant by different profile of player.

I have never seen Berge as a holding midfielder more box to box, Transfermarkt seems to suggest he can play both with a s light tendency to play more as a central midfielder. Hopefully it works out

I think JP is a bit of a unicorn and we can't replace him. Andre looks a lot stronger than Seri, obviously nowhere near as big as JP.

Think our style will have to evolve now he's gone, and maybe that's no bad thing if it keeps opposition guessing a little bit.

bill taylors apprentice

So, for what its worth we have signed a top class young PL player in ESR who can win us more games over the season.
A quality under the radar young foreign player nobody really knew in Cuncea who may surprise us all.

You could say Sessingnon is the Championship player unproven at PL who in time could be a good asset.

The classy and game changing Berge is the established PL international who can improve our first 11.
Andersen is the solid PL quality CB we need.

And just maybe Andre (if we finally get him) can be the spark of difference that will help move us to the next level?

So for what its worth there's a collection of incomers from different areas of the game all who can improve the team to one level or another.

I think a forward of some description (possibly on loan) is still on the cards.

And by the way all the above is meaningless really, just rambling thoughts out of boredom.  ::scarf::
