I cant say I've watched enough to make a judgment but is this guy actually any good? And I mean as in good enough to improve on Tosin?

Just as with Tierney, if we sign Gomez it wont be as a rotational option to Robinson but surely as his replacement. Maybe Gomez would accept something of a similar role but
he is likely on a high wage already considering its City. Tierney even higher.

Dont want to see us having two high earners on LB.

Looks like Bayern have put in another ridiculous low ball bid. Really hope that we are telling them and Joao that if they don't pay what we want by the end of June it's not happening. This can't drag in all summer. Totally sick of it already.

As with most on here, the Palhinha thing worries me. I understand that his level is a champions league team. I understand he probably wants to go, and I respect his loyalty last season after the transfer fell through. From a business standpoint, we need to get a good price for him. The replacements we have been linked with won't come cheap, and there is zero guarantee that they will be effective. My worry is that if we sell him, we will burn most of the fee on a lesser player(s) that never fill his shoes. Our recent past has me worried. While they weren't useless, Seri and Anguissa did not work out for us and that really cost us. I do think Marco is pretty effective at bringing in new talent.

I think £45m+£5m probably gets it done for Bayern. If I were them I'd hurry up and make an offer we might actually accept rather than dick around with multiple offers we would never accept. Letting him go into the Euros shop window in a strong Portugal team that has a favourable draw and plays him in a position that showcases his strengths and hides his weaknesses is not smart if they really want this done.

On the other hand, I really see no reason for Fulham to accept anything less than the full asking price before the Euros. The aforementioned shop window has a solid chance of resulting in a bidding war and with the way PSR works it is far more beneficial to wait to make any sales until after July 1st since that means the sale benefits the 3 year PSR window until the 2027 season rather than the 2026 season.

I have faith. Our business has been ridiculously good the last few years. Not sure who that's down to and don't really care...key is we've been getting it right.

We can't replace his tackling output but sure we will change up and have two that sit a bit more. We were successful just with Reed and Lukic this year.

Andre really isn't the same kind of player but could work very well with Lukic. Luis/Souza are far more similar and would be better direct replacements. All have huge potential. I'd love André and one of the others (ideally Luis) but guessing we'll only go for one. If Andre will just have to change the way we play.

Also very nice to see that the players we've targeted (or at least have been rumoured to) and not signed have also done well by and large. Bodes well for recruitment.

We didn't have a player like Palhinha before he came, there is no reason to assume that we can only play with a carbon copy of him in the team. Silva can adapt his tactics if we get a player with different strengths.

The club got quite a few results with the Reed/Lukic combo in the midfield last season. It was a much different scenario than the season before where if Joao was out, the club looked like relegation fodder. So while I absolutely want to keep Joao, if a bid of 50 million plus comes in, I believe the club can accept it. They have enough coverage to do so now.

Reed and lukic will compensate against most teams top couple aside it's
Back up at the same level back up more importantly covering injuries ,more importantly motivation to be at there best level on the pitch.

Quote from: KentFulham on June 09, 2024, 09:51:13 AMHighly doubt Fulham are getting £50m for Palhinha, it will be more like £35-38 as per the BM number being quoted of 45m Euro.

Fact is his performances have declined since the previous window when people where making outrageous claims of a £70m+ midfielder.

Great player, but we probably will be out of pocket over the previous window, and his second half season contribution was below par.

Below par hahahahaha

4 years left on his contract 55 million or he stays and Bayern do one.

Seriously talented player, but unfortunately we don't need a LB and he deserves to play each week.

Can play RB though too - but not his favoured position.

Will be a success elsewhere.

Tammy Abrahams? had a nasty injury season before last and only less than a handful of games last season when coming back from said injury. Being quoted around £20m? Very in & out type of forward but is there a gamble to be had there taking into consideration the injury he has just come back from?

If the medical team think he's fully recovered £20 million would be very tempting. Very good record before the last few seasons and was starting to look really good before he went to Italy. Still only 26. Would fit our system perfectly. Looks like he is on £100k a week at Roma but I believe Raul is with us.

Raul basically said he's not going however so with him, Muniz and Jay not sure we'd do it. Then again if the opportunity is there now I'd imagine they may look as surely we don't take the option on Raul next year and could either loan him or Jay out this year.

Really bad cruciate ligament injury that kept him out all season basically this year as you say. I dunno man, that's a tough one to take a 20m punt on and the fact they might be willing to consider it makes you think they know full well where he's at and the risk involved.

Pass from me, though will say I remember him being terrific against us for Bristol City back in the championship and wanted him then.

Has anyone seen any updates on Willian?
