Kalvin Phillips rumour:
 https://x.com/FulhamTransfer/status/1801591515279471089

He was brilliant for Leeds and very good for England at points but my god he has been awful for West Ham this season. Perhaps Marco could turn him round but really hope the likes of Andre/Luis have more substance.

One of the comments on the link that I'd be tempted to try if we get one of the above on top but surely can't pay straight up:

1-season loan, covering 50% of his wages, option to buy. I don't see Fulham making permanent move for him. Probably they will go for 2 midfielders if JP goes.

KP's entire success relies on his energy, determination and quick thinking, all of which seem to have left him.

There's a chance he can turn things around, but I think he'd most likely be an expensive distraction if he came here.

If I were him, I think I'd try to move to Italy, where the pace, lifestyle and more-limited media attention would probably allow him to find some form again.

Fulham = Arsenal reserves next season. Lol. Nketiah, Theirney, ESR and now Reiiss Nelson:

Having said that I'd take any of them with the right deal.

Could do way worse than having all of these in our team to be honest. Reiss nelson we've been rumoured with many times before.

In order of how much I'd want them:

ESR
Nelson
Nketiah
Tierney

I really would love ESR. He's got what it takes to be a top top talent if he can avoid injury and get regular first team action. Wether hell be aiming for a bigger team well see but he'd be my ideal Willian replacement with the ability to move central to CAM as necessary

Yeah totally agree with this.

Not a particularly big fan of Phillips, but I think he could do a good job if we upgraded the CM role next to him (e.g. Andre).

However my preference is not to sign a player after a failed big move when it is clearly the selling club driving the sale. If he feels he should be at a club like City, then I don't think we'll get the best from him. This position can work the other way around if it is player driven though; for example both Leno or Pereira wanted to move to play football, when I think their clubs would have happily kept them around as substitues.

Hard no on Phillips with his likely fee and wages

No thanks on Phillips, if his WHU stint is anything to go by

Marcel_Gecov

If we get circa £50m for Palhinha + whatever is left from Mitro, what can we spend this season to still pass PSR?

I think Hummels a bit too old at 35 even on a free, we have Ream already at 36.

But glad to see him rule out Saudi, good on him

Having watched him in the Champions League, I think this would be a very shrewd bit of business for us. 2 year contract or 12 months with option of another year.
He is a leader and still a very good player ..

Motspur Park

If Phillips has his attitude right, he could come good for us but it is entirely dependent on how focussed and motivated he is.

Jeroen

Pavlidis (striker from AZ and mentioned here a couple of times) is on its way to Benfica for Euro 18M...... pretty cheap so worth highjacking?

filham

One rumour said that Palhinha would move from Fulham before the Euros started, unlikely now that he will leave during the Euros and possible that we may be subjected to rumour after runour all the way to window closing day with suggested transfer fee going up and down by millions.

I'd be more inclined if £25-30m + Joao. But we'd still probably need to spend another 25m+ to find a quality CDM.

ESR should be max 25m. Very Exciting but been injured and has never held down a regular starting spot there.

Reiss Nelson 15-18m range. Promising but not a starter there at all and hasn't quite hit his full potential, wants out.

Nketiah 25-30m max for me, maybe with some added performance add-ons. Promising but hasn't set the world alight at Arsenal.

Tierney 12-15m. Loaned out by Arsenal and is clearly not needed there + some injury questions.

So around 80-85m worth of talent perhaps in my opinion. (others, including arsenal and their fans may disagree!)

if we value Palhinha at £55m as rumoured. Then 55+40 = £95m. I don't love that unless a large portion of it were made up in possible performance add ons.

RAY Rock

Why would you want to buy Arsenal's rejects . I wouldn't take Nketiah on a free he is lazy doesn't work hard and misses more than he scores
Nelson is 24 and has hardly played for 2 years and they want 20 million ridiculous
ESR is injury prone and they want 30 million ridiculous I would pay tops 10 million or try and loan him for a season
Tierney is made of glass no thanks

SerbianLad

I seem to remember we were linked with him before, but I wouldn't mind Sallai at all. Was just the best Hungary player against Switzerland and he always seems like their best player to me. Could be a good option for the Willian replacement/competition.

Wasn't it the CB Szalai we were linked with fairly recently? Or maybe it was both?

I think we were linked with Szalai as well, but I think we were linked with Sallai as well.

Btw, Szalai had a terrible match today. Probably the worst player on the pitch.
