I think we never tried to keep Solomon in the first place so not sure why we'd try again now after another serious knee injury, especially since we've bid for Cherki and been credited with interest in Tsyhankov which shows we're after a higher calibre of player

If Solomon is happy to be an impact sub, I wouldn't be against it. All of his best performances came of the bench and he looked really average whenever he started. But he was definitely one of our players that made the dream of playing in European competition seem possible. It was during his purple patch that it seemed to me like we were ready for the next level.

If he expected to start every game here, then I'd be against it.

He may have already signed but it may not have  been announced yet. As long as he's signed and registered before 12pm then he's eligible tomorrow. Don't see the rush though as Diop was good last week against Manure.

Yeah I agree with everyone else on regards to Solomon. He should have never left the way he did, he could have been vital to Fulham last season, so yeah, I wouldn't offer him nothing.

Silva namechecked Andersen in his pre-match conference which would suggest it's done as he normally doesn't namecheck players who aren't at Fulham. Also stated categorically that we will be signing a forward, so his entire demeanour with transfers is very bullish this season compared to the last few years which makes me think on the surface that he's being backed in a way he wants

Doubt he'd be in the squad anyway. Silva usually brings two defenders, would likely be Cuenca and Tete/Castagne depending on who starts.

You need some time to bed in a CB to how we defend.

Courtesty of his press conference via the BBC: Fulham boss Marco Silva on their ambitions for the rest of the transfer window: "We are going to sign a forward player, for sure. You all know that we have lost two wingers and we haven't signed any players for that position. We will sign a forward."

Guess that says ESR is viewed as a #10 who plays LW then, and maybe insinuates two forwards coming in? One perm and one loan perhaps?

We all know Silva is (arguably quite rightly) slow to introduce new signings in the starting XI. Andersen may be fit from his pre-season at Palace but will have had zero or max one day's training with Silva/Fulham. Reckon the chance of him starting tomorrow is absolute zero, even if he signed in time.

I assume that Berge will be on the bench and won't start for this reason.

Given their financial situation and that their chairman publicly acknowledged they were negotiating his sale, it's highly unlikely Fluminense would be "intransigent". And this is something you're claiming, as you'd put it, "without any evidence".

Alternatively, given that Fluminense were in the relegation places at the time and Andre's importance to the team, having returned from injury, it could be they were unwilling to drop their valuation. Fluminense may have taken the view that even if they have to sell Andre for £20M in the last week of the window, this is better, if he helps the team climb the table, than accepting anything much less than £30M in early July.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying this possibility is any more likely than the one you have put forward. Because so little of the nitty-gritty of transfer negotiations is ever known to us, we have to try to 'join the dots' for ourselves. Want to be critical of the Club for its 'commercial failure'? Your scenario fits the bill. Like to think the Club has not be drawn into overpaying for the player? My scenario ticks the box.

If our interest in Andre is at an end, my personal feeling is that the Club must think £25M for Berge represents a better purchase than whatever we would have had to pay to Fluminense. This is the most logical interpretation I can put on it. And unless further information becomes known, I'm going to trust that judgment.

Don't think he'll be in the squad, and I would suggest he'll get some mins against Brum on Tuesday going by the comments in the pre-match press conference
