Must have another CF coming in then?

We don't. It will be Nelson and that's our lot.

Now is the real pressure to have to perform on Raul and muniz as they will be getting supplied with multiple chances this season.

Quote from: Neutral Zone Ultra on August 30, 2024, 11:10:17 PMMuniz and Jimenez are our only strikers for this Premier League season. That is simply not good enough.
Maybe Vini will stay now?

McBrideOfFrankenstein

Not a bad window imo. Shame about Jay but he was not going to get minutes.

This was an important signing, not just an optional afterthought

We look like mugs, an otherwise semi-respectable window undermined by the usual wheeler dealing and penny pinching and lack of consideration that we actually need to field a football team for the next 9 months
Bang on. A panic signing to cover up our continuing failings to replace forward players.

Caedal

A really disastrous end to the window.

LRCN

Hardly disastrous but disappointing for sure

Saudi and Brazilian windows open for couple more days. Either way he shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.

Milo

Seems other clubs eg Forest with Ward Prowse, Wolves with Andre have done some decent last minute business.

Feel quite underwhelmed by our own tonight.

You could argue if we had signed ESR, Anderson, and Berge on deadline day then we would be pretty happy. For once we did our business early. But still, like a last minute surprise and didn't seem to get one tonight (when I thought we still had a bit of money leftover!)

I know, but if we sold Stansfield and didn't get a replacement, we'd be one striker short of what Marco wants. He said one in one out. Maybe Vini surprisingly stays in the end.

How is he a panic signing? Hes been a target before, We were rumoured to be interested in him in previous windows and were linked earlier this week. We were talking with multiple targets at the same time to make sure something got done.

Jesus wept, hes a decent player with plenty potential if he gets consistant game time that just needs to be better than BDR to be an upgrade... youd think people would learn not to over react and wait to see people play here before writing them off.

A fairly good window overall. Last day weirdly everything happened in the last half an hour. A player decided he suddenly didn't want to come after completing a medical. We, I think were already in for Nelson as that happened so quickly. Stansfield leaving but for 12 million sounds a good business deal.

Can't see why people feel it has been a disastrous last day. Disappointing is as far as I can place it on a scale.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

LC

If Nelson comes in and Stansfield stays I'll be very happy.

Nelson is a good player and I'll be very happy if we get him

demeant0r

There's a lot of negativity here. I'm just happy we've done our business relatively early and not have to rely on deadline day to get in key players like the last few seasons.

Neutral Zone Ultra

Nelson has 4 goals in 50 league games. I know most of those are off the bench but that's just so so underwhelming.

Confirmed

Must say Im suprised weve not brought in another striker.

Vinicius our 3rd option? Havent seen him confirmed anywhere

itombomb

We're briefing to the Athletic reporting we chose to go for Nelson over Nuamah, Lyon are briefing to L'Equipe he decided to stay.

It is a good window overall, but definitely a very underwhelming end - didn't get either the top class winger, or the one who could develop into one (and turn into a big saleable asset).

Ward Prowse isn't good business really, he's a panic buy because of the Danilo injury. He can't play in a midfield 2 in the premier league any more.
