Quote from: demeant0r on August 10, 2025, 03:51:23 PMMy predictions: we won't sign any more until deadline day and it'll be two loan moves.

Surely, just surely for the love of God we get at least one this week.

Quote from: Drewry66 on August 10, 2025, 03:45:08 PMProb just means Kevin is off to Napoli of course but you just never know. We should have just signed this guy anyway instead as if Shaktar have he'll clearly be worth £50m+ in two years  ::cry::

https://x.com/jackellyffc/status/1954551116311429258

In the interesting that we'll be inevitably linked with him in two windows time offering 1/3 of his valuation or a cheeky loan with an option?

 :slap:

Forget any players this window...just pay whatever it takes to get Shaktar s whole scouting team to the cottage. We'll have a Brazilian wonder kid samba whites eleven worth 10 billion within 3 years. I've given you your master plan Tony.

Quote from: Deuce on August 10, 2025, 01:55:59 PMImagine us leaving the Nelson discussions, trying to play hardball with Arsenal and placing a bid for Kevin, which is immediately rejected and the Brazilian himself isnt interested in coming here - and now we return to the table with Arsenal.

What have we achieved here, exactly? Other than the fact that we are now in a much worse position in this negotiation.

And our weird strategy of just bidding for random players need to stop. We did the same with Samuele Ricci last summer. One bid. Rejected. And we went for someone else. Reeks of desperation and lack of strategy

Reports are that Kevin wasn't keen on joining us; likewise with Cherki and Nuamah last summer. Surprised we would place these bids without knowing the player is keen on the move.

So everyone moans that we are not ambitious and we go for ambitious targets who don't want to come and every moans that we've tried?

End of the day this is reporters saying he doesn't want to come but no one knows that for sure as reporters clearly know F all as per the million false rumours this summer. Maybe he just prefers Napoli over us. What a surprise. If Napoli don't get him maybe we do late in the window like Berge when Man U went for Ugarte in the end. But that requires waiting...more moaning.

 :slap:

I am of course extremely frustrated as well. End of the day no one has a clue what is going on with these deals but that was an exciting bid and personally glad we at least seem to have tried. Cherki and McTominay became world beaters last year so at least looks like we are going for the right players. Can't help it if we are too small and they don't want to come...that is clearly a reason it appears to be so difficult to upgrade what we have but looks like we are hoping that a few of these players become available available later on. They do come off sometimes so you have to try...still not sure how we managed to get JP but seems the rest of Europe were blind to it at the time.

I criticize the club when we havent done our homework. Every decent club at this level make sure through agents/intermediaries that a player wants to come before putting in an official bid.

Honestly, its really the basics and I dont think its moaning to demand some measure of professionalism from the club and that we actually prep any potential moves we want to do and not just lunge bids at whatever comes out way

And on a side note: the continuing excuses people make up just for the sake of protecting this club is sometimes ridiculous.
The player didnt want to join? Probably just fake news from journalists who make things up about Fulham (for some reason)
We missed out on a player who signed for someone else? We were probably never interested anyways
Everything is going exactly as Fulham has planned and we have never put a foot wrong

Super Mick

Who will play left back if Sess isn't fit?

Finnans Right Peg

Not an ITK or even close to it but a mate of mine is a liverpool fan and is at the charity shield and the rumour is Tsimkas to us on loan for the season ,dont see it myself unless Jedi is off or his recovery from injury as not gone as well as expected .

As also been told we are 1 of a couple of teams on for elliot .

Like I say just a rumour he passed on and I am doing the same

Hang on. The pages of endless moans and criticisms of the club have become a farce. The attack on the owners, the lack of professionalism, the constant idea that a bunch of idiots are running the club. Frankly it's embarrassing having to find someone to blame based entirely on newspapers and journalists spewing out tittle tattle, all of whom are fighting for readership as nobody reads their tripe anymore. By all means debate about the club. But this childish wringing of hands because some player may or may not sign and may not have ever been interested is silly. Debate is one thing but the need to constantly find somebody to blame for imagined failures is shockingly short sighted.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Not saying we never put a foot wrong mate. It's clearly not easy in the market as others are struggling too but also not good we haven't signed anyone yet for whatever reason we can't see behind the scenes. No one knows what discussions were had and how interested the player is in us. Just personally can't see why we shouldn't at least try for top end targets and folk clearly complain when we don't. But agree to disagree on it.  ::thumb::

Any reason for Muniz not being in the squad for the friendly?

He was almost certainly involved in the other friendly played kn the same day. Same as ESR, Castagne, Adama, Diop, etc.

I'm trying to figure out how we've weakened our negotiating position with Arsenal. As far as I can see, our rejected bid for Kevin changes nothing. It might be a different matter if Arsenal were not keen to sell, but this is not the case. The only thing that will weaken our negotiating position, surely, is if another club is willing to match or better our offer for Nelson.

We definitely haven't weakened our position. We've strengthened it by proving we are willing and able to go after different targets and he isn't our only option.

Elliott rumour makes sense but I can't see us paying the asking for him.

Tsimikas really doesn't make any sense unless Sess is getting a permanent move to winger. We have plenty of coverage there that having a 3rd LB is pointless. Only other possible reason would be selling Robinson but I can't see it. Though we have done plenty of things that caused me to scratch my head before.

FFC007

Given how lackadaisical we have been so far in the market, I cannot see how we will get four in before Wednesday, so that they can be registered for Saturday.

I repeat, if we start badly then the knives will be out and questions asked.

KentFulham

They will be out, and it is fair play for sure

FFC1987

Elliott looked good to me when he came on today. Penalty aside obviously. His ability to retain the ball and find decent forward progressing passing is impressive and I think he'd be an asset and certainly a decent investment for the future even at £30m. It won't happen, but I'd be excited to see a much more mature version of him back at the cottage.

Quote from: Lighthouse on August 10, 2025, 04:13:49 PMthe need to constantly find somebody to blame for imagined failures is shockingly short sighted.

The criticism of our conduct on particular rumoured transfer attempts is indeed mostly speculative. But the overall failures aren't imagined. The fact we haven't signed anyone except a 34-year-old backup keeper isn't imagined. And there are only really 2-3 people who can conceivably be to blame, all of them Fulham employees.

They want £50m for him or £40m with a buy back clause. Granted we have a sell on which would act as a discount.
