Iwobi is going to be a CM now and we don't need him as a winger, so in a way it removes a need for him to be a winger

Not sure it's his best position, particularly in our system. Makes no sense to me.

Don't you agree though that if we play 5 at the back Iwobi can function as an 8 with only one of Berge or Lukic holding?  I think that will be the back up plan. Also I think Reed has been slightly underrated as a back up. He has played with Lukic in the middle and we have been fine.

Nah - Reed doesn't have the legs to play as a 6 or 6/8 in the Premier League now (if he ever really did), its too quick for him to cover things defensively. It's why when Marco has played him (like in the first season back in the PL) he was always playing slightly further up the pitch.

The squad is now looking really good, but DM back-up is my main concern. Either Lukic or Berge get injured and we're in trouble.

Though by the same token, if Ridgeon is as good as everyone thinks he is, then that 6/8 is his position and you don't really want to make a signing that blocks his development.

I do wonder why we spent 4 million on a loan fee for him to be 3rd choice striker. He is obviously very highly rated too, so idk. The signing is a bit weird,imo.

I heard the loan fee was paid in order to beat other clubs to him (Sporting once again was one of them). I'm hoping he will push Muniz and either make Muniz improve with younger competition or push to start. Much better than having Broja or Vini who wasn't ever going to play or challenge

Might be why Sporting were trying it hijack the Kevin deal by trying to get this young striker on loan.

Dont see the point in JKA unless there is a bit option.

 Immense Swedish talent but he needs to play regular football and not be a third choice at this stage of his career. A tad bit raw for the prem and should probably play in eredivisie or maybe a lower half Bundesliga side.

Not sure why it's attractive to him either. Probably not much more chance of starting for us than he has at Munich.

Nice to see us looking at a youngster but would make much more sense all round if it included an option

He has no reason to walk away, so at a minimum he'd want his 2 years wages paid. Can Chelsea afford to take a £40m hit this season? Hmm... possibly, with the positive transfer window requirement. But surely it's more likely he goes on loan to any country with a later transfer window?

We definitely do but you would think the way this window has gone the club would announce ASAP to appease the fans.
