Contradicts Peter on the buy option. But seems its going ahead. Do trust Peter though as he's always been our most accurate journalist.

I think he's conveniently glossing over it with the " the Premier League gave green light to the move after new talks with Fulham" - why would we need new talks if it was the same loan??

Sounds like this option inclusion went right to the wire according to Rutzler. May have been debate as to whether that was done in time? Anyway who cares...if we have got him and the option is there that is amazing news. Let's hope Rutzler is right.

Bassey the warrior

That guy edited his post to say there is an option to buy.

I highly doubt we are paying £4m for a straight loan with no option. Although we did do something like that for Broja if I recall correctly. My bet is there's an option that's the only way that deal makes sense to me anyway. Otherwise we should have gone for Jamie Vardy on a free transfer / 1 year deal
Also we didn't think Broja was going to be 3rd choice when we signed him. Muniz got his chance and he took it and then when Raul came back Broja became 3rd choice. We also now have 2 strikers who have proven to be pretty regular sources of goals, so we aren't that desperate. Unless we have an option to buy, it's an extremely weird move for everyone bar Bayern.

Yeh, I read that, but BM say they have secured a buy back clause whatever that means.

🚨 Crazy turnaround for Jonah Kusi-Asare: He is set to become a new Fulham player! Despite problems with the paperwork, the Premier League gave green light to the move after new talks with Fulham.

It's a loan with an option to buy, but Bayern Munich have secured a buy-back clause. The German club will receive €4m loan fee for the 18yo striker who is expected to renew his contract with FCB and return to Munich next summer.

Clearly they think he's gonna have a decent career if they've insisted on the buy back being included

It means they've got first refusal to buy him at a set price after certain criteria are met or after a given timescale

Quote from: Somerset Fulham on September 02, 2025, 12:06:52 AMJosh King is going to dip lads, he is not the megastar that some think he is just yet.   I hope that he becomes that but its a way off yet.

You might be right and if I recall correctly Sterling had a dip in form after starting well at Liverpool and a lot of youngsters do dip after coming into the scene. But if you look at King's performances, what he does do very well is press. You can have a bad game or a big dip in form, but that won't impact or at least shouldn't impact your press game. He's all around quality, he does the simple thing and always keeps the ball moving and runs in behind defences. To be honest, I think we have a top quality player on our hands. And as I mentioned on another thread, I wouldn't be surprised if the club offer him a new long term deal before the end of the season - and yes I know he just signed a 4 year deal, in my mind that doesn't matter.

I do hope that he doesn't dip, of course!

I guess I was just trying to remind people that although he has had three 8/10 performances so far, that standard might not carry on just yet.  People are already kind of presuming that it will.

Its all about managing expectations and people not getting carried away and then crashing with disappointment when it doesn't quite go that well, it happens here a lot.

The buyback clause only comes into play if we take up our option to purchase. It's essentially a clause that's part of our buy option next summer

oh I get it Basically the price we need to pay has been agreed if we want him on a permanent.

Okay that's interesting. I believe it means that we may have an option to buy at say £25m (completely made up) at the end of the loan and they may then have an option to buy him back first say £40m (again completely made up figure) within the next few years. Basically if he turns out to be a star they get first dibs on getting him back at a decent price. Liverpool tried the sane with Elliot in case he develops the next few years. Depending on the figures could be a fair deal for all parties. We'd lose him back to Bayern but we'd still make a big profit. He'd have to be amazing for them to bother as well as they are of course an elite club so could never be a concern for us.

It's encouraging how highly they seem to rate him. Very exciting.

Correct, and as part of that they'll have agreed a price at which Bayern have first refusal to buy him back (which will be at profit for FFC)

Yeah, my understanding is that this (including buyback clauses in outgoing deals) is something Bayern have been doing with some regularity recently.

Makes sense for big clubs. Unlikely to ever get game time with them but far more likely with us. Develops with us and they get a superstar cheap if he comes good. In the meantime we get a quality player for a few years if he does and then make a decent profit. Suits all parties to be fair as long as the profit is enough for us if they do take him back.  ::thumb::

Well one deal fell through rather than two.

Nothing changes for me in terms of thinking the timing is idiotic despite this deal being getting in just by the skin of our teeth.

Definitely a positive uno reverse though.

Deeping_white

Side note; Villa are covering 80% of Sancho's £350k a week wages so they can get in the bin if they ever plead FFP poverty ever again because that's mental

0 deal fell through of this bunch it seems and in fact we actually upgraded the original deal we thought we'd lost to include an option ,which was only issue in the first place timings wise it seems.

the other deal (George) we ourselves pulled the plug on as it was only seemingly put in place in the first place in case we decided to sell Wilson for a fee we were happy with. Also probably gave us a backup and or leverage in case one of our others fell through....That fee didn't materialise, we signed Kevin and chuk and so the George deal we pulled 🙌

Now one could argue all day about wether they prefer Wilson or George but club made it's choice. I personally wouldn't have minded the risk for profiting on Wilson, but, no doubt he was viral last year for us in the end and a goalscorer.

Wether stressful or not for us with the timings.... Bloody chuffed if this comes off. Bayern kid looks special and another who probably wasn't going to be 100% made available until Jackson deal was confirmed

Let's hope for no more Uno reverses on this Bayern kid 🤣🤞🤞🤞haha
