Same as Wilson, would be a poor decision too. Traore is a great option to have in the squad, as he's got a unique skill set that you can't replace.

He may have a unique skill set but when has it ever won us a game?
I can think of a couple of times but not enough over his time with us.

Traore's contribution probably can't be overlooked - 9GA in 36 apps last year, one of our highest contributors.

Not always a starter too, but his pace is a big asset of making space in the last third of the game.

Where does that rank him?
Because a winger if playing well should be in the top five among the squad for goal contributions.

This was this morning and everybody wanted to commit crimes against decency. Since then Kevin has completed a medical. It has been reported that Sporting can't match the asking price. Now again all this is speculation. Old news regurgitated as new. But the latest is Kevin has passed medical, Chuck has passed medical and a loan with a permanent deal agreed. However again speculation as is the Chelsea player having a fee agreed.

 This is same as the Berge vs Lukic speed argument I've had with someone here a few months back. Top speed isn't the same thing as being faster than someone. In fact, a lot of times centrebacks get the highest top speed numbers , that doesn't mean that they are faster, that just means that at one moment they reached an incredible top speed. Every time we play anyone, Traore easily beats his defender for pace. I've not seen a single defender outpace him since he's been here.

Because Wilson is 28 and about to turn 29, and if we don't sell now our options are losing him for nothing or probably giving him a 3 year £60/70K+ a year contract.

It's exactly the kind of business we should be doing with players who aren't important starting XI players (yes Wilson scores a good amount of goals, but his broader play isn't consistently effective in Silva's system).

I just don't think he's the only player out there who can run fast, and it's not justification enough to keep him if we can get good money for him, especially given we're signing other, younger wingers and he's going to be out of contract next year.
