Anyone think that inheanacho would be a good loan till end of season.
Contract expires with Celtic in summer, though they have an option to extend.

6 goals across 38 Championship appearances, no thanks. Another one who is finished at this level.

Lukic with a long term injury and our back up options are Reed and TC. What a joke.

Even Iwobi is not a proper CM.

The club sell Andreas in the summer and doesn't bring anyone.

What's with the 'finished at this level' statement - I don't see how anyone can say that with confidence objectively. We've seen so many players who've been 'written off' and considered 'no good' at PL level come back and find their feet again at a club to prove that so much of what makes someone done is as much as their attitude as it is the club, team and manager they play for.

Willian is such an obvious example - yet for some reason people have selective memories with this stuff.

The last time Iheanacho played in the Prem was three years ago. The last time he played in an elite league was La Liga with Sevilla in the first half of 2024/25, where he scored a grand total of zero goals. He then went on to score one goal for Boro, and the fans there thought he was awful - just look at any of their tweets from last season. And that was in the Championship, so I don't know why you think all of a sudden he's able to roll back the clock 7-8 years and help us push towards Europe?

I agree that some players can find their feet again, but there's zero evidence that Iheanacho is that.

Just said Dwight McNeil (player I like) possibly off to Palace for £20m ! as much as I have always rated him a unsung hero type who get on with it that seems a chunky fee for him. Have Palace hit the panic button?

He's only 26 to be fair - I thought he was a fair bit older. So still room for growth if he finds his form again, but agree £20m is a bit of a risk.

I think he is a solid perm league player who would fit in well with our team. £20m good value if you can keep him fit. Has goals and tenacity .

Not according to his own words on it in his last press conference. Might well be disappointed but he can at least see we made multiple major bids for pepi and was clearly chuffed with bobb deal

Don't we have 2 domestic loans unused? Surely that's what we need to use...

Who would be out of favour and worth the punt though? Realistically you're looking at a small pool of players that are stopgaps and their parent clubs would want them playing regularly

Nick Harvey Elliot from Villa, who don't seem to want to play him much... All they have done is take him off of Liverpool to weaken them... no sure what wages he is currently on ... He's out on loan anyway - Midfielder who's attitude may have improved now??
COYW

Elliot is stuck, can't play for another club because he's played for Liverpool and Villa already, Villa don't want to play him as it would force them to buy, Liverpool don't want him back
But Liverpool could sell him?  Might be a cheap option, if all parties want to wash their hands of him?
Not a fan of taking players back, especially with how he walked away, but what I saw of him last season, I thought he had improved / matured as a player and we could do with a Midfielder ??
Just asking the Q.

I kinda feel like PSV is just trying to milk a few more million....

my goodness, this is looking incredibly lacklustre. Was hoping for some rumour and excitement. I would love to know how expansive our recruitment network is. Done get me wrong we have made some decent acquisitions over the last few years but creativity is definitely not our strong point.
Will however slightly contradict myself by saying that is someone had said that we would get Oscar Bobb, I would not have been a believer.
Can the scout/data team not uncover a Brighton-esque midfielder that will quickly be worth 400% of purchase price ...

It doesn't matter if we buy him, he is unable to play for anyone other than Villa or Liverpool for the remainder of this season due to FIFA rules on players being able to play for a maximum of two teams

I think many of us have been waiting for transfer news to give us some hope/confidence that Marco will re-sign . If we don't add to the squad before the day is out, I think I will be edging towards Marco leaving or at least stating that he will not consider a contract renewal until later in the season. That is to say he will see what options come his way before deciding.

There is nothing stopping them selling him, but he can't play for another club in the uk (maybe Europe) as he has played for two already this season. I think that's why an mls club came in for him maybe
