Gimme Shelter 1969 - The Rolling Stone

So so good. The older I get, the more I realise The Stones really are the real deal. BalDrick of 10 years ago would have scoffed at this but frankly you can take the whole of my record collection away, so long as you leave me with my Stones stuff. Obviously I'd rather you didn't but they are my most listened to band these days by a distance.
Cigarettes and women be the death of me, better that than this old town

The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

This is a major contender for my favourite track of all time. Whenever it comes up on one of the playlists on my generic MP3 player I have to listen to it twice.

"We won't look back on this season with regret, but with pride. Because we won what many teams fail to win in a lifetime – an unprecedented degree of respect and support that saw British football fans unite and cheer on Fulham with heart." Mohammed Al Fayed, May 2010

FULHAMISH: The more things change, The more they stay the same

...there were so many fantastic songs around in that decade my list would overload the bandwidth again. These songs definately "take me back" I have limited them to two per artist, not as favourites as such, but more for the personal 'flavour':-

My Generation and Lets See Action - The Who
The Last Time and Paint It Black - Stones
She Loves You and From Me To You - The Beatles
Green Onions Booker T and the MG's
If I Had A Hammer - Trini Lopez
The Sounds Of Silence and Scarborough Fair - Simon & Garfunkle
Cathy's Clown - Everly Brothers
Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun and Careful With That Axe Eugene - Pink Floyd
For Your Love and The Shape Of Things To Come - The Yardbirds
The Court Of The Crimson King and 21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson

I haven't even got started, but just a few to contemplate Oh and most by The Kinks...

SUMMER IN THE CITY - LOVIN SPOONFUL 1966

The Lovin' Spoonful - Summer in the city

David Bowie's Memory of a Free Festival, it's a very good song but I'm thinking the free festival concept epitomises the 60s more than the song per se.

Dick Dale & The Del Tones "Misirlou" 1963

Iconic and I'm wonderin' if Don can play this one

Sometimes I wish I was 30 years older. I really would've loved the 60's from my teens to my 20s.

Now over to Mr Cocker:

Joe Cocker - A Little Help From My Friends - Woodstock 1969
