Stubborn Manager.

His subs and timing of them baffle me at times.
One pundit saying the same tonight, taking off ESR was baffling, and also stating with the players we have,we should be higher up the league.
His decision making needs to improve I'm afraid,or we could be in trouble.

IMO, we are in trouble.

Not quite yet with the teams below us,but near to it.

Could? We are.

I'm sorry, but Marco Silva has more chance of signing a new deal with us, than he has keeping us in the Premier League, at this point.

I do actually feel the whole thing has become very toxic now, and could end badly for us.

We are better than this, but he seems to beat himself in games we should be winning, and this is another prime example.

Out of Leeds, West Ham and Forest, I'm really struggling to see how we won't fill that 3rd spot.

Annoying thing is I didn't think palace were that good, it was there for the taking . Silva just hit self destruct with those subs today .

Milo

We looked knackered by the end.

Nothing theoretically wrong with the subs:

Kevin for ESR
King for Chuk
Lukic for Berge

The same skill mix was there.. they just didn't work. Seemed completely disjointed after the changes.

I think the problems started even before the changes. I asked for changes in the match thread way earlier. The problem was, Marco subbed the wrong players out. Raul should have been the first one to be subbed off definitely. Wilson looked knackered and apart from the goal(which was sensational) he didn't offer much. ESR and Chukwueze were causing them problems all game, yet they were the first players to be subbed off.

Yea, Chuk and ESR should have played until the end unless injured.

Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

The biggest issue was not taking Raul off at 60 mins when he pulled up clearly injured. He literally couldnt run for the rest of the game.

Moving Wilson to 10 and Chuck to RW didnt work at all, and completely disrupted what we were doing well.

We also had a massive issue with our fullbacks overcommitting and there being masses of space down the wings which Palace exploited. Felt like ever counter was a 2 on 2.

Bringing Cairney on was a complete waste of time. He should have chucked JKA on up front

That's why I thought we should have started a back 5 and matched their shape, but tbf, with Sess out, it probably would have been worse, as I can't see Castagne playing as a left wingback.

First sub for me would've been JKA for Raul

Bottom 3 in January is massively possible with our Africans out.  Gotta keep it real.

HobGoblin

I want him out personally, the refusing to sign the contract offer, the mouthing off about signings. Just creates a bad atmosphere. He kept a player on that was not 100% to not play a replacement striker, that left us weaker in this game. Tired of the guy

ESR was subbed off last game too. No idea why he was replaced today. He's bang in form and could've/should've scored a brace today but for a miraculous Henderson save and Chuck's toenail being offside.
I think even Berge should've stayed on.
Only one needed replacing was Raul. What has Silva got against JKA? He almost got a penalty v City so he's proved he's no slouch.

Mentioned this a while back it's a Portugese trait to be stubborn only then to have a few wokes pile on. Have spent a lot of time in Portugal over the last 40 years and they admit that they are stubborn!

And having spent many, many years studying personality trait theory I can tell you that there is no such thing as a national personality trait whether it be Portugese stubbornness or any other. It's just racial stereotyping. Call me woke all you like, doesn't make your assertion any more scientifically correct.

I can attest to this. I was with a Portuguese girl for years and she her family, all of her friends... Bless them i really love them all and the country but they're the most stubborn people on this planet. Every single one of them would do the "wrong" just to show it's "their" thing
