I do not see what Fulham fans see in Kevin

He is bad terrible a complete novice of a footballer he is not suited to premier league football and when he plays he is a liability we have had our pants well and truly pulled down . You could wait 3 years and he would still be 💩

Trusty Steed

I think there is a good player in him.

He hasn't adjusted to the premier leagues physicality and maybe somewhat underestimates the quality of opposition during his 1v1's. His decision making isn't the best either.
He has something about him though, his flair, his turns, the flicks. I feel this season is a learning curve, I'm confident he'll turn it around.....

Poster in invitation to pile on player thread.

I'm a Kevin fan but I admit there are issues and struggles atm with end product.

He's second in the league for successful dribbles and clearly has so much talent.

I see reason to believe it could click, but it's infuriating. Talent is there. Hopefully patience will be rewarded. We shouldn't underestimate how hard adjusting to the league is. Think he'll be fine but it's just not the trajectory people hoped for or envisaged.

Also worth pointing out to OP that Openda who he likes has struggled for goals at Juve. Doesn't make him a bad player.

We said the same thing about ESR last season and look at him now

Say no more, blokes clearly a genius

I didn't realise he was 2nd in the league for successful dribbles! Goes to show once he improves his final ball, he will start creating goal scoring opportunities.
Some of his crosses and passes are beautiful, so hoping to see more of that

I think he is quite bad and am in the "extremely concerned" camp. Maybe he will prove people like me wrong, but at that price, he should have shown more by now if he was truly going to be a top player. Greatness doesn't get hidden.

ESR did take time, but also ESR isnt going to end up at some big club where we turn a profit. He was here to strengthen our squad and he had his chance at a bigger club and he isnt good enough (consistently) to play at a CL level club.

Kevin is meant to shine bright for 2-3 seasons max with Fulham, maybe even get to a level to play for Brazil, and we sell for much more. You dont spend the money we did on him without expecting more in return.

For me, he is getting worse not better. He has no patience on the ball. He doesnt dictate the flow of the game when the ball finds his way. Great players make the game slow down, and he makes it seem like the game is moving too fast.

Young kid playing in major league for the first time in his career in a squad that has been pretty underwhelming offensively for a number of reasons and he's written off, lol. Judge him after a full pre-season and he's had a year of PL experience under his belt. A number of wingers who are now doing well at PL level (Semenyo, Schade etc.) to name but two who played at similar sized clubs to ourselves took 12-18 months before they really cracked the PL.

For me I can't understand what Marco is telling him to do positionally because he always comes inside so jedi can overlap, and then he's got the ball in traffic where it's harder to fully impact the game as an experienced PL winger, let alone one coming up against good players every week for the first time. As others have pointed out, his dribbling and take on stats are fantastic, and he usually puts in decent crosses too, so once his decision making improves then I think he'll go on to do really well.

I just hate that people assume that because we spent big on a kid and that he's instantly a Rivaldo regen because he's Brazilian. If people want us to go to the next level as a club, they have to accept that we're going to spend sums of £30m plus on players who have potential to recoup 1.5-2x that fee after a few years if/when they realise said potential. After all that's the model that Brighton and Brentford use and that's what we should allegedly do ourselves according so some of the armchair experts on here who berate our transfer dealings, and yet people don't see to employ the same patience when we try it compared to those clubs, and the amount of time they give those players to earn back the fee and then some.

Wake up

Say something negative

Rinse and repeat.

Fulham are 7th in the premier league but ya still compelled to seek out a bad angle just to get a reaction. Interesting

As for Kevin. He's not hit his ceiling yet for sure, still finding his feet in this league clearly. But raw attributes are there to grow into the player he can be.

But just as you and the usual suspects slagged off and said the same rubbish about ESR who's been performing well now... A bit of patience and I remain believing well see steady improvement from the young lad.... Just in time for you to slag off the next new signing like it never happened, cos it's just what you do.

Agree

Does anyone else remember Ryan Giggs and Christian Ronaldo when they first played for Man Utd?  Both very fast, great ball carriers but neither could cross or shoot - initially. Good coaching and patience required.  ::scarf::

I go back to what I've said before....

Kevin arrived at Fulham on 01st September 2025 (4 months ago) as a 22 year old....

In his 23 appearance's for Fulham he's scored a goal & had 3 assists and a pass completion of 78%...44 successful dribbles...and shooting accuracy of 46%.... he's also shown that he can defend & has very good timing in a tackle...

Not that long ago some people were saying Harry Wilson wasn't a premier league player, and he's just received goal of the month

Please give Kevin time.... he's probably going to need a good year of football & he'll try stuff that sometimes will work & sometimes wont - but that's what he's about, trying something that other player's can only dream of.

Also it's very unfair to compare him with Chukwueze (26 year's old) - who immediately felt at home at Fulham because of friends he has in the team...

It's Sunday, but I'd better get warmed up

Logicalman

I like seeing Kevin play, and, like others, he shows such potential that I believe we would become a first-class Prem player if handled and coached correctly.

I know he has a bunch of detractors out there, and rightly so, players need some criticism at times, though give him the rest of the season, and if he still isn't performing as many of us believe he can, then take the hit and let him move on to somewhere he can realize his talent.
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

I think he demonstrates a level of skill with dribbling we haven't seen from many players, maybe Dembele? And sometimes his first touch is sublime, but there was a moment where we had an opportunity to attack and his touch let him down at what was a promising opportunity and it sums up where we're at right now.

Also he did a pirouette that made the crowd gasp, but rather than lay it off or compose himself he lashed the ball over.

I'm confident it will come, but I don't think it will come soon. This is quite an established pattern now.

I think I like him more as an impact sub right now, it feels like he often plays with more freedom and impact in that situation. We can't be carrying him for too long as we've been so over reliant on Wilson and really need more players to step up.

He excites me.  He is a player that will take a defender and drive on rather than the standard stop, pass back and recycle the ball back to Leno.

Yes, he loses the ball, yes he misplaces a pass but I pay my money to be entertained and Kevin does that for me.  Leno receiving the ball when we have been on the edge of the opponents 18-yard line does not.

As commented in this thread, his defensive work is good too.

One day, I would like to see Kevin on the left, Chukwueze on the right, Muniz at no9 and Wilson at 10. I was frustrated yesterday that Kevin was sacrificed when Robinson was replaced and Iwobi (Marco favourite) moved wide left.  I think Kevin would have benefited from Sess behind him rather than an out of sorts Robinson.

Work in progress great first touch hopefully he will kick on in time.Probably won't see the best in him until next season with a pre season under he's belt.

If he was 19 (like King) we would be more forgiving but despite just turning 23 he has a lot to learn after his move to the PL.

He has not had the benefit of growing up in English footballl like King and despite getting into the Palmeriaras 1st team he only played a handful of games before moving to Shakthtar.

One season at Shakthar and while experiencing the CL he is still on a big learning curve IMO, especially now in the ultra competitive PL.

He has an opportunity to get used to English football and find a way to influence the game better, which I'm sure he will.

Rambler

Give him time and be patient. I think he'll come good. I wasn't so sure about ESR but he's proved me wrong this year.

The worst thing we can do as fans is get on Kevin's back during games if he does something wrong. It'll destroy his confidence.

Kevin is 23, In three years time, by the time he is 26 like Chuk is right now, he will be miles ahead of Chuk. For once we have invested in talent that has real development potential.
