Quote from: hovewhite on July 14, 2026, 05:55:25 AMAfter losing Wilson on a free maybe the policy now is to make a decision and older players with a sell on value then use it.

If a player won't sign a contract then there's nothing a club can do about it, yes you can sell before his contract expires but in that case we would not have had Wilson last season so the rest is pretty irrelevant
season before we could have got a sell on to Leeds u.

I see the hindsight comment from many fans about most transfer when we are discussing why we failed to sell at the right time. Too often the club end up down this road for me for hindsight to play a role, it is just bad transfer policies from the club

@jolslover

Rumours Bissouma was at Motspur Park today. Talksport reporting Fulham are eyeing him on a free transfer.

I think he would be a solid signing. Nothing to get too excited about but he is definitely an upgrade on Reed on a free transfer and they are rumoured to be on similar wages (we could then sell Reed)

Lost his way at Tottenham a bit but still only 29 and at Brighton he was one of the best CMs in the league..

I like Bissouma and would be a massive upgrade. If we can sell Reed for whatever sign on fee + difference in salary that we're giving Bissouma then that's a net zero transfer.

But knowing whether you've sold at the right time is typically a matter of hindsight and opinion, is it not?

For instance, had we sold Muniz last summer, there would those on here who would now be saying his departure cost us a place in next season's Europa League. Based on his scoring record for us before last season, they would be arguing that Muniz would have scored a dozen goals for us and this would have propelled us into a European spot. They would be pointing out that progress in a European competition would be worth many millions to the Club and Muniz would still be a highly saleable asset.

And while all of this would be hypothetical, making the case that the sale of Muniz was good business because he was about to have a season for us in which he would come up some way short of looking like a P.L. striker and his value would plummet would have been almost impossible to argue convincingly - irrespective of how well or badly he may have done in Italy. It's only because we did not sell him a year ago that we know, with hindsight, we should have accepted Atalanta's offer.

A good window into the sort of deals real strike for their youngsters

Franculino Dju 17 goals in 21 games last season, only 22 years old. This one looks exciting a no brainer at transfer market value €22m get it done.

Talk of Yves Bissouma coming to us on a free...

Good move? Damaged goods as he was out injured most of last season?

Bissouma when he's focused, fit and up for the game is a gem of a player. It'd be a risk, but if he's keen to prove himself again and get back to the levels he once was he could fit in

Bassey the warrior

Bissouma in and Reed out is good business. He can get his career back on track with less pressure, was excellent at Brighton.

He looks a real talent although playing in a slightly weaker league. Really like what I've seen although I've seen Midtjylland are demanding 40m.

A motivated and on his day Bissouma alongside a Berge to move the ball forward would be very good, he'd have his freedom to play.

But getting that version of Yves is a big IF given recent years, and off pitch attitude.

:Khan_you_fix_it: I think a deal like the one they have agreed with the CB, maybe 25m+5m add ons and 10% of sell on. If we received 100m they would get their 40m and we would make 60m.

Bronaldinho

Worth noting Leeds buying Muharemovic for £34m+

He's only had 1 season at Serie A.

Looks like the new normal for fees are 30-40m.

Just saying for perspective, as I imagine a lot of people, like myself, are still not adjusted to the modern transfer valuation.

Tottenham couldn't keep any of their players fit.
I think our medical team are much better at keeping players in condition so would hope if we signed bissouma that we could keep him fit.

On his day great, free at 29 and ship out Reed would be a good thing

ElRay

With Berge probably being out until August after his post World Cup break, if Bissouma does impress in training I can't see why we wouldn't offer him a contract

My concern there is you replace a really good human for a potentially sh***y one. Harrison is an exemplory professional character and whilst his time here might well be up ...he is an example of hard work and professionalism and a good influence on the squad by all reports

Meanwhile the rumours around Bissoumas chequered history and attitude are well documented

No doubt on his day a good player but squad cohesion is important and I would worry about the net negative impact in that regard, should this be the swap in and out.

Its not that I don't mind moving on from Harrison (he deserves to go somewhere he can play more often at the backend of his career) just that this specific character has alot of question marks for me and doesn't feel very "Fulham"

FFC1987

Personally think Bissouma is a dreadful idea. Injury history, very questionable character for the dressing room with a lot of extremely questionable, some alleged and cleared, some clear evidence of and fines/managers comments to believe.....I really liked him at Brighton, but he's not been anywhere near those levels for too many seasons now on top of all the other stuff......Technically an upgrade in quality to someone like reed, but a massive downgrade in regards to character, professionalism and changing room vibes.
