Tony Khan spoke about wanting to do business earlier this summer, and we're nearly at the end of July with JKA still the only arrival. With the first game of the season getting closer, it's natural for supporters to wonder where the reinforcements are.

At the same time, recent windows suggest Fulham rarely get all of their business done early. Looking back over the last five summers, many of the club's biggest signings arrived in August or even on deadline day. Smith Rowe, Berge and Andersen all came late in 2024; Castagne and Iwobi arrived at the end of the 2023 window; Diop and Leno weren't signed until August 2022; and in 2020, players like Areola, Loftus-Cheek, Lookman and Lemina all joined in the closing weeks. Given the history, and the owners saying every penny matters in negotiations, we're likely in for the same.

The links to Nwaiwu also make me think there could be more happening behind the scenes. It would seem unusual to let Diop leave unless the club felt reasonably confident about strengthening that position. So maybe we're further forward than the media mentions?

As for the truth and the media, it's similar to what Hull City's owner tweeted about recently about the volume of inaccurate transfer stories surrounding clubs. He said most of the links were false. Tweet here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOther14/comments/1v4bodf/acun_ilicali_teases_all_hull_citys_transfer/

So maybe we are only seeing a small part of what is happening... (Maybe I'm trying to tell myself that too).

None of that makes the wait any less frustrating. Supporters are excited (maybe nervous) about the new season and want to see the squad take shape, especially if Alvaro Arbeloa was expecting to have additions in early. So, while it may have said we were going to do things early doors, it may have just been a PR thing or there is stuff we don't know about.

Certainly is annoying for us FFC fans, and similar story every year.

Said this on another feed. Had been following this guy's tweets but hard to know what is b.s at this point when he says stuff like the last sentances...
How can he possibly know what figure Fulham are going to return with? Talking like he's bugged Ali Macs office.

Seems plausible they are moving the goalposts - they are in a strong position having already sold big this summer, but who knows how much is fiction

Seeing Hulls chairman tweet about how most of what he's reading online and in press about his targets is complete b.s puts things into perspective. Que sera. Will see where things have landed come the deadline

Yet another season where we will have to wait until deadline day to get all our signings done (or not done) 😔

The simple fact is we're a month away from Chelsea with a considerably weaker squad than last season. I don't care if it worked out in previous seasons, it's not acceptable and we risk another slow start and playing catch up.

In out in out and shake it all about

Same guy now saying Trabzonspor have now accepted our offer

FFN also reporting it get's done today

If so - somehow bang in line with the seemingly regular time we seem to make our first new signing (24th-26th July)

EDIT* FFN saying he means the deal agreed obviously not the full transfer (which will presumably require a medical etc) So now I think about it, whats the likelihood even if we agree the deal with club today that the player is able to fly out have his medical and move house before Monday?

Suppose if we got him on a plane tomorrow to UK he could do his medical at the weekend and move into somewhere temporary and join the team soon as he's able to

Porthogs FC

Seems like we have our CB. We need a CF, winger (or 2) plus a CM (likely need an outgoing before we see an incoming). Reminder that Iwobi can play Wing or CM. And who knows if an academy winger is ready.
Not all doom and gloom. Patience? Right? CF is the glaring hole, but even at that, what if Muniz starts with a scorcher?

Looking forward to the new season. We have a settled back four, decent central midfield and two very good wingers. For all of us who lived through the club's dark ages between the late 60's to t he Adams era these are good times. We could probably do with some cover up front but otherwise nothing to be despondent about.

Some newer supporters seem to live in some fantasy land where world class players are desperate to come to the Cottage. Those of us who saw Budgie Byrne and Frank Large are now very happy with the way the club is run.

if the agreement is done we have a game against Norwich tomorrow at MP I can see him having his medical, meeting the team and flying out to Portugal next week with everyone.

When you were watching Budgie Byrne and Frank Large I doubt you were spending close to £100 a game to watch them. We have a decent first team but we have lost three of our best players and haven't replaced them. We're threadbare in certain areas. Does that not concern you at all, especially given we have a new head coach?

Well i live over 200 miles away, so whether the ticket was £1 or £99, travel is the main cost for me. But that's nothing to do with the club surely or the fact that we've not appeased some fans by early signings?

this is my view we have a competitive first team squad and a striker who can score goals so it's not all bad news.
