Quote from: hopper on August 30, 2026, 09:36:24 AMDi Marzio not been very good for Fulham rumours over the years so I'm slightly sceptical.

We have been linked earlier in the summer though and rumour was he wanted a european team if he were to move on, and so far a European team hasn't taken the punt on him so may be some truth coming to end of window - especiallly with Nwaneri seemingly off the table as they want straight loan.

As people may or may not recall Roma are my Serie A team and I've spoken on Soule before here.
Super high ceiling talent with a wand of a left foot who can cross well and is good on the ball. Not electric quick for a winger but wouldn't really need to be in this system. Just tucked inside the winger is probably perfect spot for him. He can beat a man to cross off the initial accelleration he just isn't a the speedster type so much.

Quite a few comparisons in some ways to Harry Wilson, can be quiet and then suddenly produce absolute magic with a strike or moment of class.
Biggest issue for him is availability and consistancy. He's been stuck behind roma legend Dyabala, but at one point was running the show for Roma's attack and looked a world beater, but has had this disrupted by a persistant groin injury called pubalgia... He's currently fully fit, healthy and looking good, but this potentially I think what is stopping big teams from taking a punt on him at a significant price, and the reason he might be available to us. IF he's put it behind him, he has a high ceiling if under a manager who properly nurtures him (Don't think Gaspi is that guy). On his day, a real talent and someone who would give us  a potential match winner off the bench or to compete with Bobb, with the way he can strike a ball.

I would assume this will be a loan + option deal

@jolslover

Soule is quality, would be a top signing. We've been after him for a few years now.

Quote from: Moussa Dembele the 3rd on August 30, 2026, 01:31:35 AMAngel is 170cm and weighs 60kg so smaller than Modric. Hopefully he's just as good though. . .

And hopefully Charles turns out to be just as good as prime Casemiro in order to cover for him. . .

Holy crap, he will get eaten by PL defenders

Just like Kante, Silva, Cazorla, Torreira and Scholes did..

Xavi, Veratti and Iniesta turned out alright too..

Tbf, they were exceptional players and successful because they were generational talents. Their size doesnt really tell you anything with talent like that.

On a side note:
Torreira? You mean former Arsenal midfielder? He was pants
(And Scholes wasnt exactly just a technical player, he put in his fair share of tackles)

2018 Arsenal beat us 5-1 at Craven Cottage Torreira was MOTM and best player on pitch that day.

The point is if the kid is talented (definitely looks it) and Arbeloa really rates him his size shouldn't be a reason not to sign him

Calling those tackles is being generous

Haha true, but I was just trying to differentiate between a Xavi and a Scholes (or Kanten for that matter)

Yeah, thats against the mighty 2018 Fulham.

I get your point, just thought it was a weird name thrown in with some absolute icons

According to one post on X Newcastle are also talking to Roma about Soule

Haha I snuck him in there, was just thinking of short midfielders that have done well (or relatively well) in PL

Apparently danso is allowed to leave spurs as de zerbi doesnt see him in his plans. He was always great from what ive seen of him playing for austria. Might be worth inquiring about

If there is any weight to the Tete to Everton report that puts weight on Jake O'Brien coming the other way as the RCB replacement for Diop . Jake O'Brian would be at least £17 million and if Andrei Ratiu is brought in as Tete's replacement he reportedly has a Euro 24 million release clause. Doesn't leave much room for more transfers unless we bring in one or two loans, sell another player or loan a player out
If it wasn't for the medication I,d be chewing on your skin

So looks like we will be signing Raitu & Àngel, a RB & CM........ Where is the CB coming from then?

Quote from: Thailand Mick on August 30, 2026, 12:01:37 PMApparently £9m for Tete

I think that's good business, considering he almost went to Everton on a free not too long ago.
His wages are probably pretty decent too.
He doesn't fit Arbeloa's system, so makes sense.
I do love King Kenny though....... 🤴🏾
On his day, he was a world class defensive RB

jayffc

Yup
With his injury record and the fact he's 31 in just over a months time. That's very smart business tbh. £8m in Pure book value for this year after we pay 10% to his old club.

That goes straight into signing this new RB on hopefully smaller wages which will be net positive all round in terms of book value/amortisation
👌

Interesting to see all the moves being made and conversations now the deadline is approaching

Hugo larsson from Eintracht Frankfurt looks exciting, a 22 Yr old DM with plenty of game time.

Soulé also looks like an exciting prospect. Not a starter last season for Roma as they finished 3rd in Serie A, but got plenty of game time and 11 g/a.

Sad if Tete does leave, on his day arguably the best RB in the league and genuinely world class. His motm performance vs Chelsea at Stamford Bridge will stay in memory.

That being said, if we get in one of Ratiu, Hector, Bellanova or whomever and they're younger on less wages then it makes a lot of sense for all involved.

Tete deserves a new contract and to go to Everton at this point of his career is a good end for him.

Will be interesting to see whether the players we get in are all permanent or some loans. Hopefully the key players will be perms

Clearly a win win win here. We get a good fee considering age, contract length and what we paid for him once upon a time.
Everton get a really good RB that will suit Moyes style and Tete gets to play in a system that will cater to his strengths rather than being to exposed (I assume) or just benched in AAs system

Bring on Ratiu!

Have we actually been linked with him? I assumed that the "other" club was Chelsea seeing as Enzo likely is leaving for City

Just checked the Lyon website says we paid €3.2m for Tete.. if that's the case then he has to go down as an absolute bargain. Especially if we are selling for £9m.

Lyon have a 10% sell on fee too though
