My goodness he looks good.  Confident with both feet as well à la Cherki.

I think Tete is significantly better than Castagne at virtually everything other than staying fit, and for the last couple of seasons I think we made a mistake having both of them on fairly big wages and not signing a young RB to blood behind Tete (I blame Silva for that btw, he wouldn't let Castagne go to Juve last year as he didn't trust the club to buy an experienced replacement).

But the reality is we don't need 3 RBs on 1st team wages, and Arbeloa is demanding pace in that position. So if this guy is as good as a lot of people seem to think he is, then it makes complete sense to get Tete's higher wages off the books and bring in a decent 'pure profit' fee. Next Summer we can then do the same and do what we should have done previously, and move Castagne on to bring in a younger player (on lower wages) to back up and apprentice Ratiu.

Does look like the move. Think we wanted to sign Bellanova ideally who's 26, or even Fort who's even younger, but neither seem available to us and sadly in Bellanovas case...not for the first time. Time to try a new profile of player altogether and then as you say look to pickup some youth in that position next year.

We're officially Madrid West now.   I'm good with it until it doesn't work.

I'm looking at the Spurs and thinking "at least we didn't spend that much".

You guys were right.

Arbeloa prefers Castagne.

Tete agreed to personal terms with Everton.

Guess Andrei is pretty much a done deal.
Are Everton allowed to agree terms with a player under contract?

Trusty Steed

Angel is more of a Modric type player from what I've read. Small, but with great ball control, good in pockets of space and good vision and creativity. We need someone like this, alongside Shea Charles........
More exciting than Lukic & Berge

If I'm an opposing team I'm hoping that Fulham fields a midfield of King, Angel, Palacios and Charles.   We're getting overrun anytime we don't have posession.  We'll be beautiful in our buildup but killed on the counter.  Not sure that we'll do well on set pieces either.

Angel is 170cm and weighs 60kg so smaller than Modric. Hopefully he's just as good though. . .

And hopefully Charles turns out to be just as good as prime Casemiro in order to cover for him. . .

Generally speaking, a club asks the other club for permission to discuss personal terms then the clubs work out the structure of the the bid basically.

But I think with the use of agents, usually clubs go to the agent, the agent then basically tells them what their client wants, they agree "in principle" and the buyinh club then knows that the player wants the move instead of having to bid, then realise that the player isnt interested.
So first checking with the agent, then the buying club starts bidding

IMO, Cestero is a better player than Manuel Angel and more what we need. Álvaro Arbeloa publicly praised him as "the best '6' in Spain right now." He specialises in breaking up opposition play, winning duels, and dropping between central defenders to orchestrate the build-up. Observers often compare his grit and tactical sense to a blend of Casemiro and Martin Zubimendi. He'd be a perfect Berge replacement. Cestero appears more interested in a transfer to an Italian club but was being linked with Fulham last week, so I suspect we're going down the list because Cestero isn't interested. I didn't see much to excite in the highlight reel of Angel above. You can drink from the same well once too often. The world's a big place.

Tbf, they were exceptional players and successful because they were generational talents. Their size doesnt really tell you anything with talent like that.

On a side note:
Torreira? You mean former Arsenal midfielder? He was pants
(And Scholes wasnt exactly just a technical player, he put in his fair share of tackles)

Calling those tackles is being generous

Fulham 1879

Soule is valued at €35m by Transfermarkt. Even though their valuations are sometimes well off the mark he won't come cheap and it seems odd to spend any remaining money on a right winger, albeit versatile, when we need another DM and RCB.

Di Marzio not been very good for Fulham rumours over the years so I'm slightly sceptical.
